NYC Teacher Recruitment

Since I'm having such a hard time obtaining a job on LI, I applied to NYC this year. I am dual certified in Spanish/Special Education grades 5-12.

I received an e-mail saying that the NYC Recruitment Office wants to interview me. What does this mean in the interview process? What happens after my interview?
Where is the office located?

I also went on the link they provided me with to schedule a time and date, however, the link to schedule a time was missing so I e-mailed them, today at 11:30ish. They still haven't e-mail me back. I'm worried bc the e-mail inviting me to the Recruitment office was sent on 3/5 and I was waiting for a reply to my personal e-mail Chat Icon and just saw it today!

I hope I didn't miss the deadline.

Any and all advice welcome.

Thanks!

Re: NYC Teacher Recruitment

When I was interviewed I got cleared to contact principals for a job.

You can also research the newer schools since they can hire outside NYC teachers. My small school is growing and we are adding a language next year, once I know exact positions I will definitely post information here.

Thank you!! How do I go about contacting principals? Everything is very different from LI.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Re: NYC Teacher Recruitment

When I applied for my job, I sent my resume to almost every single District 75 school. I found a directory somewhere and just emailed my resume to principals. I am not sure if it is the same way for general ed. schools though!

I searched online too. I also found a few smaller schools posting on craigslist.
