NYC Teachers Questions!!
I have three questions?
1. Does anyone know who I can contact regarding a pension consultation in queens. I don't know if I should opt in for this 55 retirement thing. I need some help.
2. I have GHI and will be moving to connecticut. Am I now out of network?
3. Does anyone know about any workshops over the summer through the DOE that pay? Where can I find out about these?

1. You can call the Queens UFT help line and ask for a pension call back...there will also be workshops on this. There are a few in Queens coming up
2. Have no idea about GHI...talk to your payroll secretary
3. Are you talking about persession workshops? DO you have a teacher center person in your school? Ours in a coach and always lets us know about WS paid or not

1. They are having 55/25 workshops throughout the year. You won't get a pension consultation this early. go to uft.org and find out where the next ws in queens is.
2. I went to an ENT in Connecticut and he took my GHI. It was fine. Just ask your Dr. before you go.
3. I took a couple of paid workshops over last summer, but I learned about them through my school, and am not sure how you would register for them. One was peer mediation (5 days:25 hours) the other was Respect for All (GLBTQ Issues: 2 Days: 11 hours.)

I'm not sure what the workshops are called I just know that someone had done it last summer and she said to look on the website and I can't find anything. This is one thing my school is NOT good with.
