NYS PFL
how does your company handle the new law?
mine is stating that we no longer submit to disability but we now submit to PFL.
it doesnt really matter either way... unless there is an issue later and i need my PFL. then i will only have 2 or 0? weeks left plus 4 FMLA.
i mean if i'm on maternity technically it's short term disability because its medical right? lol

Re: NYS PFL
I wouldn't completely trust HR. Mine would get things wrong, especially new things. They didn't explain the similar leave we had in NJ very well when it first started. You need to look up what runs concurrently. I had something similar in NJ and I couldn't even submit the paperwork for NJFL until my disability was over. In NJ , I could take 12 weeks family leave, 6 paid (at 50% capped around $650 per week) and 6 unpaid. It did not run concurrently with disability. So, I was allowed to take 18 weeks total (6 disability plus 12 NJ family leave). I can't recall how FML would have fit in because I didn't use that.
