OB Office Wait Time

I am just curious to see what the average wait time is in your obgyn office when you go for visits during your pregnancy. With my 1st it wasn't so bad and now it is almost an hour wait every time which seems crazy to me! Especially since I have to bring my dd with me which makes it that much more difficult to keep her entertained!

Lately, it's been about 45 minutes, which I feel is long.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

It depends on what Dr I'm seeing... how many Dr's are there that day and what time of day my appt is.

I've never had to wait an hour though.

I've tried different times of the day and it doesn't make a difference they are always so backed up! There is 4 dr at the practice but I only see my doctor. It just annoys me having to wait so long for the short appointments where you see your dr for about 3 minutes.

15 minutes, tops.

I find that even in a room full of women waiting, all the preggos get called first. I remember having to wait 45-60 min when I would go in for my routine exams.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

At least 30 minutes..sometimes an hour if I'm having a sono. It really is so annoying but I love my dr so I guess its worth it.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

In my OB's office it depends on what time of day. The usual time I go is after 4. Then I haven't waited for more than 10 minutes.

For the morning and the afternoon appointments I have had have been anywhere from a half hour to an hour. For some reason the one 2pm appointment I had last week had 4 pregnant women in the waiting office. I have never seen that many at one time.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

I always request the first appointment of the day and still have to wait at least 30 minutes- they book 2 people for the 9am appointment- completely stinks!

For our first appointment we had a 6pm and didnt get seen till 7:30- never again for a night appointment for me!

Re: OB Office Wait Time

I would say about 30minutes. Though, I have to get my blood sugar checked each time I go, so it is faster to get in when I go to the lab first.

About the same. Sometimes right away, sometimes 5-15 minutes.. but always quick for preggo appts. Wait a little longer for non-preggo appts.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

At my first 2 doctor's offices, it was 1 hour plus. Since I changed after getting pregnant with my first, I never have to wait more than 5-10min--it's awesome!

Re: OB Office Wait Time

I think I wait about 5-10 minutes, tops. But I also always ask for the first appointment in the morning, which I think helps. Oh, and I'm not in NY anymore, which probably helps too.

My old GYN in Brooklyn, I'd wait about 45 minutes. It used to really p*ss me off.

My old OB when we lived in the city, there was zero wait, ever. Now my new practice in Jersey I have never waited less than 45 minutes and it makes me furious, especially since I have DS with me.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

Urgh I HATE going to the OB b/c my wait time is on average an hour to 1.5 hrs. The first visit I waited 3 hours!!! I was so mad. I've been thinking about switching, but the doc's hospital privilege is at NSUH which I heard was good.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

My first apt at 8weeks I waited maybe 5 - 10 minutes. But this last one at 13 weeks, I waited an hour. I was really ****** off because there was no one in the waiting room and all the room doors were open and I could see they were empty.

Depends on what I am having done - regular visit or a sono - usually around 30 minutes.

Re: OB Office Wait Time

Ugh I never wait long in the waiting room but wait forever in the exam room. I find this more annoying than just sitting in the waiting room. Yesterday the air conditioning in the front of the office where the waiting room is was blasting. The back of the office had no air. I made a comment to the nurse as I sat in the exam room. I was melting!!!!

Re: OB Office Wait Time

My waits have been getting progressively longer... last week DH and I waited 45 mins for our growth sono. Then another 10 mins to see the nurse for the usual weight/BP/urine check. In the beginning we never waited more than 30 mins.
