Odd ?- pjs in the hospital...

I am trying to pack my bag now Chat Icon and I'm trying to choose pjs. I didn't even bother with maternity pjs- I just got a few pairs of XL bottoms, which I wore with men's XL v-necked tees. Being a slob, the t-shirts are stained with juice, ice cream, etc. so I don't want to bring them. I have so many pair of cute pre-preggo pjs, but I don't know if they will fit. Should I buy new ones?

Re: Odd ?- pjs in the hospital...

I bought a matching set for me and the baby from Old Navy. I realized that the top is a nursing top though so I probably won't be wearing it since I won't be nursing.

Do not bring pre-pregnancy pjs!

First, you do not want to ruin them in case of bleeding or the like...
Also, you don't know what the situation will be...c/s for example...so you want to be as loose and comfy as possible. I had a c/s, but I'm sure the nurses check you out a lot regardless (in my case, frequent incision checks) and you want "easy access." Lastly, I can't speak for everyone, but I was NOT looking the same as before...you need larger, IMO!

I was thinking the same thing! When my SIL had her baby in Jan, when I visited her I didn't see one mom in PJs, they were all in the hospital gown. A few had robes and slippers on. My SIL had her baby on a Wednesday evening and went home on Friday. If the stay is that short, I cannot justify buying PJs.

Re: Odd ?- pjs in the hospital...

My Sil brought a size larger for afterwards as PJ's int he hospital and she still wasnt able to fit into them after.

I would get maternity ones or something like you said you are wearing now.

I want pants because if you are A C-section, and you have to lift your "gown " up every time, it could get annoying versus pulling pants down.

I bought two pairs of the nursing pajamas from Old Navy. I'll bring one and if I have a C-section I'll send DH home for the other.

Hey due date twin!
I brought PJs to the hospital fo my first and never used them becuse I was bleeding so much. I just wore the hospital gowns so if they got dirty no one cared. Needless to say I didn't pack any PJs this time.

I also bought new pjs and then didn't use them because of all the mess. I just wore two of the hospital robes so I didn't have to care about getting blood on them, and saved the new pjs for when I got home.

Re: Odd ?- pjs in the hospital...

I didn't use PJs while in the hospital. I had a vaginal birth so I was out the next day. But during the full day that I was there, I just wore robe over the hospital gown. The robe I wore had a zipper and 2 pockets in front. It was soooooo comfy. I still wear it when I come out of the shower.

Re: Odd ?- pjs in the hospital...

another hospital gown wearer here. And I went home in the same outfit I came to the hospital in, b/c I packed non maternity clothes and they didn't fit!
