Odd question - but- can you "unshrink" a sweater dress?
It's cotton. It said machine wash cold. I did that. Cold water, hand wash cycle. Laid it flat to dry.
It didn't really seem to shirnk anywhere else but I put it on today and um my cha cha and butt are almost haning out.
This dress was never long, but at least it wasn't indecent.
And the chest, arms, etc all still fit fine.
So I was reading on google about restreching it out- things like soak it in baby shampoo, woolite, this that, and then re shape it, stretch it etc.
Has anyone done this? Has it worked?
I am BUMMED because it's my all time FAV! The dress I felt super confident in. Now I just feel like a hooker in it!
And I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS and it still shrank in length!

I have never tried but why not try and see what happens. I hate when you follow directions and clothes still shrink, stretch, fade... has happened to me so many times this past few years, more expensive clothes get cheaper they are made and barely last past one wash

If you figure it out please let me know. I had and the operative word is had, as it sits in my closet, an awesome sweater dress. I sent it to the dry cleaner per its instructions and now I feel indecent in it as it shrunk in length. It used to fit perfectly.

Look up how to block fabrics. Wool is easier. Since you put your dress flat, that's probably why it shrunk. Try hanging it or stretching it and then drying. Cotton can be less forgiving and it loses its shape

I just thought that if I hung it, it might stretch out funny while drying. But That would probalby have been better than this!

Someone once told me to soak in cold water with hair conditioner, but I never tried it!

If you do this and then hang it to dry the weight of the wet dress should stretch out the length. It's worth a try if it can't be worn otherwise.
