Hey August Girls!
We should start a "Born August 2012" thread on the parenting forum so we can keep in touch and check in on the progress of our little ones!
DD is doing well- 2 weeks and 2 days old today!
She cries inconsolably though every single night (usually between 7-midnight) but the time varies, but always for about 5 hours straight now. Any BTDT moms who know why this might be? Is this a common, normal thing? We asked the doctor and they just say yes babies are fussy but I mean, I can't believe she can cry so hard for 5 hours with nothing helping her!
My first did this for 6 weeks, it turned out he LOVED white noise..I guess he missed the wooshing sounds he heard in utero. I burned out 2 hair dryers with him. The instant I turned on the dryer he would pass out asleep. He liked vacuums, landscapers (blowers/lawn mowers), and the hair dryer. I ended up buying a CD with white noise on it, but he liked the real thing better ..I think you can buy white noise on Itunes..but I am not sure. I had my baby August 10th during the tornado warnings (I was in Good Sam as they announced the first warning over Robert Moses lol) and she is beautiful Adjusting to life with 3!!

white noise is fantastic, i used it with DD1 (she still sleeps with a radio playing white noise) and use it now with DD2. it's so soothing for them. when DD1 got fussy i turned it on (after reading about it) and she stopped almost immediately. try it!!

Hi girls, My baby is a ! I had a happy & healthy baby boy on 8/16 weighing 8 lbs, 12 oz. I was induced....labor harder than my 1st pregnancy (I puked all day long from moment I got epidural)....delivery SO much easier 2nd time around. He slid out in just a few pushes....I pushed for an hour and a half with my first. The puking really did me in though. He is a great baby so far & his big sister (26 mos) is madly in love with him. Hope you and your little ones are all doing well.
congratulations!!! hope you and are doing well!!

I will be a September mommy. I've made no progress and all the docs in my practice agree I won't go into labor over the weekend. I'm all set at the hospital to begin induction Tuesday night.
Good luck girls!

Alot of babies get fussy at night. They are tired from the day and need to wind down. Rent the happiest baby on the block DVD- it has great techniques for calming a fussy baby. It also sounds like your DD might be colic. I like gripe water for colic. A nice walk outside right around a fussy time is a good way to combat the fussiness and the fresh air will knock her out. Good luck!
