Hi October Mommies!! Sorry I haven't been on much. Things have been crazy stressful. I'm posting from phone so will write more when on computer. Just wanted to say hi! I had my 16 wk yesterday and my twins were kicking each other! I guess they'll be tough by the time they come out!
Crappy quality u/s so I couldn't even make it out but that's what the dr told me.
Helen, I have my 20 wk on 6/5 also! At 11a w/Dr Kaufman. I want to talk to you more about the docs...
Hope everyone is doing well!
how funny!! we both had 16 week sonos yesterday and now our 20 week on the same day! Surprised I haven't seen you there yet! lol Our 20 week is w/ Dr. Sadaty, at 2PM on 6/5. We'll have to FM to compare notes

Re: ***Official OCTOBER 2012 Mommy to be thread!!****
So I really thought I'd be able to announce our team by now but last night we went back for another sono after our LO didn't cooperate last week and he or she still didn't want to cooperate! Last week the legs stayed crossed the whole time, and this week the babys butt was facing us but it just needed to turn a little to be at the right angle to see if anyhing was there but it wouldn't turn. At one point the tech said she thought it was a girl, but then a few minutes later said maybe its a boy actually. Then before the session was over she changed her mind to girl and then back to boy again she couldnt be sure if what she was seeing was the cord. And she didn't want to tell us for sure unless she was completely sure so we still don't know. But I still have my 20 week sono to look forward to so we still have a chance to find out, otherwise we're okay with staying team green if our LO never turns the right way. It was still amazing to see him or her in 3D! We got a great pic of the babys face that I'm in love with

FM me your email addy and I'll send you my "useful baby items" list I made for a friend.
I'll register for #2 after we confirm the gender. I found sheets I *love* at PBK the other day. I'm not expecting a shower or gifts this time so the registry is just for me to make a list of stuff I'd like. Kinda like a little "budget and fun stuff" guide to keep me from buying crap everywhere without an end.

We might start soon. We thought we'd be finding out the gender this week, but we didn't. But we might just start registering for non gender specific things just to get started. I can't wait!!!

We haven't started registering yet though I started a word file with links of things that I want to register for. I said I'd register at 20 weeks which is less than 2 weeks away or when I'm done with the baby bargains book which should be in a few days. I'm still confused on what to register for and I'm dreading it a little bit.

Oh the suspense!!! That sounds like torture w/ all the second guessing! lol Imagine that if you are stuck being team green but not by your choice by your LO's choice The sono you had last night, was it a place you paid for out of pocket? Or a 3D sono at your OB's office?

I haven't started registering yet, just got the latest edition of Baby Bargains in the mail yesterday! That book seems overwhelming, do I have to read it cover to cover? Or just the items I'm interested in? Sandra I will definitely take you up on a registry look over once I start ours! I think we're going to go over Memorial Day weekend.

We went to Little 3D Wonders in nesconet so we paid out of pocket. It was worth it to us though. The owner/tech was so nice and patient. We paid for a 15 minute session but it ended up turning into about and hour and a half between the first time and the time she had me come back because she couldn't determine the gender. She was really dedicated to trying to find out for us! Plus we paid for 2D but she kept switching over to 3D so it was nice to get those extra peaks.

At 18 weeks I'm finally starting to feel kicks and flutters! last night I felt the baby moving around a lot and I called DH into the room so he could put his hand on my belly and try to feel it too. But of course as soon as he came in the baby stopped moving! Oh well, plenty more months left to feel those kicks! Anyone else's DH able to feel your LO kicking yet?

Re: ***Official OCTOBER 2012 Mommy to be thread!!****
I started registering already and am actually almost done (though i'll probably change my mind about 80 more times )
I used the baby bargains book but did not read it cover-to-cover. I did one thing at a time. So i started with a stroller and saw what the book recommended and then registered for that (online). I then went to the store and played with all the items i chose to make sure they really were good (strollers are easy to maneuver, fold, etc ... the carrier was light enough ... the pack and play was a good size ... and so on).
WebMD has a list of essentials to buy for the baby (it doesn't tell you which brands, just how many of each item): click here

That's awesome! I've felt flutters but no real kicks yet. I can't wait until those start and DH can actually feel LO moving around

We felt it for the first time last night. I was so jealous of everyone saying they felt so many flutters because I wanted to feel them more often. I tried to feel for a kick last night on a whim and I did so I made DH feel to make sure I wasn't going crazy and he felt it too. I was so excited!

Not really sure if it's kicks, but I've been feeling a little pulsing on the left side of my rib cage, which I'm guessing is baby B (the higher one).
In my head, I hear "mama" each time...

Re: ***Official OCTOBER 2012 Mommy to be thread!!****
When are you having your shower? I want to plan mine early in case I need bed rest for the twins...but that puts me into the summer, when probably a lot of people will be away.
I don't know what to do!
I have an early Aug birthday, so I've always had the problem of people not being around for a b-day party.
Don't want the same thing for my shower.
