Amityville... Still have power. The block over has a tree down which knocked down a power line. The line was live and landed on a fence that house was told to evacuate. I'm just north of Merrick, most of my family south of Merrick here in Amityville have left because they are underwater. Our dock property is also underwater. Merrick rd is closed here to Babylon.

Brightwaters/Bay Shore- Sections of my back fence are already down. It's very windy. The lights flickered but are luckily still on.

Went to work in downtown Riverhead this morning, the river was flooding the streets when I left.
Came home to ridge to find trees down in my neighborhood and just like last year the power is out on my block but on all around us.
DH started our generator so we have a few things plugged in for now.
The trees are really bending from the wind I'm very concerned about that.

Suffolk County-Dix Hills

2 power outages as of 2:30 p.m.

Winds are really picking up, rain is getting heavier.

According to my parents in Port Jefferson Station, they have power.

I spoke to my boss, who lives in South Merrick-they are under mandatory evacuation. The Meadowbrook parkway is closed going south after Merrick Avenue.

Stony Brook - Knock on wood, really not bad yet. Gusty and windy but so far we have power. Very little rain. I hope it doesn't get worse. Fingers crossed.

Ronkonkoma - lost power for about 2 hours. Now it's back!! I'm convinced the tree across the street from me is going to fall down. This wind is nuts!

It's encouraging how it came back so fast.
But you have to wonder- they can't be out there fixing lines now...so what is going on? Bizzare right?

I think they are. I've seen several LIPA trucks in the area. My sister lost power for a bit in Huntington and saw a LIPA truck stop near her house and then she had power back. Chat Icon

Lost power in ronkonkoma for a couple hours and now it's back on. Hoping it stays on but it's really windy out so I'm doubtful.
