Re: 'Official Working Moms Thread'
Today is such a struggle. I was just home with my DS for 6 days in a row. I only expected to be home 4 days in a row but he got sick so I took Wed and Thurs too.
I was having a hard time bc I felt DS wasn't really bonded with me, he would almost never smile at me but as soon as DH would say a word to DS, DS was all smiles. So, these days that I was home, I really focused on interacting with him and trying to make him laugh and it worked! Now he smiles at me a lot more than before and it is such a relief and so beautiful! But now I have to worry again bc now I know for a fact that being away from him has negatively effects on our mommy/baby relationship and its killing me inside. I really wanted to just quit this morning and stay with him.
I'm worried about being away from him and him forgetting I'm his mommy.

Re: 'Official Working Moms Thread'
Luckily I am a teacher so I get a lot of vacation time with my kids. I too enjoy working and at one point when I was on Maternity leave with my twins and my other son was only 2, I started to envy my husband when he walked out the door for work.
I am feeling much guilt since my son was dignosed on the Autism Spectrum (PDD/NOS) and I am not able to be with him during his sessions in the morning ( I am there for the night ones). He is in day care twice a week and with grandparents 3x per week. I think it has definitely helped him socially being with typical kids in the day care though. I don't think I would change that now that I think about it more.
Thanks so much for starting this. Especially since my son's diagnosis, I feel like I am the only one working that has kids that I associate with.
