My question is, how did he get away on a bike? He got on a bike in his darth vader costume and police couldn't find him?
They're not stating how he got away. He didn't necessarily have to flee via Rte 347. Arrowhead Elementaty School is behind this plaza and he could have escaped there to a waiting car and left via that neighborhood.

ya know, it would be funny if this guy really had an obsession with star wars -- remember that true life where the guy thought he was a freaking jedi? he would wave his hand in front of automatic doors in shopping stores and when they would open he swore it was the FORCE. LOL!
