Oh God...my poor Grandma
My aunt died 5 years ago, my mother's sister...it was just the two of them and my aunt had cancer. Anyway, my grandpa is gone, too....so my grandma has outlived a child and a husband. So, Abuelita still gives my uncle a gift for Christmas, even though he's an azz truly and should have seen my aunt was sick but chose to think she was "lazy" instead. Long story short...Abuelita calls there to say she has a gift for him, and a woman picks up. My grandma hangs up, thinking it was the wrong number. She calls again, same woman. My grandma asks for my uncle. The woman said sure, and said: "Amor, telefono." My grandma almost died....I mean, sure. It's been some years, but as a mother, I can't imagine how she feels.....my grandma is a traditional Spanish woman; she tries not to think anything badly of him even though she has heard us saying that he should have seen my aunt was ill, she was bleeding all over the place (colon cancer)....but still, she always tries to see the best in people, whereas I hold a blame there. My aunt was too scared to see a doctor and by the time she went, she died 2 weeks later. And she died at home....hospice care. So...my grandma's like, "That's my daughter's home...."
I just feel sad; she called my mother hysterical. She lives in FLA....sorry so long.

Sure he has a right to date but he should be considerate of your grandmothers feelings as well.

Oh Lana for your abuelita...its totally understandable why she was upset...that was her daughter and it will ALWAYS hurt to lose a child...and then to find our that her husband is dating again must be just as hurtful...

well, this woman's in for some shock. unless she gets his arroz con pollo on the table exactly at 5...she's in for a life of misery.oh, and his azz doesn't leave the couch when soccer is on.

My Grandmother also has outlived a husband and daughter- My Mom died from Cancer 2 years ago as many of you all know
My Father is dating someone- and while he doesn't purposley throw it in my grandmothers face- I know it upsets her a great deal
I am watching my Grandma sink deeper and deeper in a depression over all this loss
I feel so bad for your grandma- that must have been a big shock

you poor grandma - she sounds alot like mine- I feel bad for both of them
she must be so upset

He should have let your grandmother know that he has started dating again. That would have been the right thing to do.

He should have let your grandmother know that he has started dating again. That would have been the right thing to do.

I agree - I can't believe he didn't address this with her when he got on the phone - being that he knew she answered the phone. Poor Grandma That must be so hard
