Oh, so you must want this one to be a girl.

I don't understand this common thought process....that because I already have a son, therefore I must want this baby to be a girl.

Why is that? Why do most people assume that I want one of each? Or are they implying that I was probably disappointed that I had a son first, and now might be my chance to get a girl?

It is seriously one of the top 2 comments I get from people almost every single day. The other comment always being about how BIG I am at this stage of my pregnancy.

People are annoying!

Re: Oh, so you must want this one to be a girl.

I got this comment but in reverse - I have a DD, so I (and my DH) must want a boy. The sighs and "Poor DH!" comments I got when I told people this baby was a Chat Icon were ridiculous. I ignore them or get sarcastic, depending on what kind of mood I'm in.

Re: Oh, so you must want this one to be a girl.

People are idiots.

Seriously, I WANTED my second to be a boy!! I wanted DS to have a little brother so badly and I had so many people saying things like "think pink!!". So weird to me.

I never cared what I had, i just prayed for healthy. I cant imagine my life without my two boys. They are everything to me.

I keep getting the "do you want a boy now" comments since I have a girl already. Actually, I think it would be really cool to have two little girls close in age to be best friends. I know they don't mean to be rude so I just smile and brush it off. If it's someone I care to even respond to I tell them that I'll be very happy either way and I think two little girls would be great.

People just do not know when to zip it. I have a DS and am now 37 weeks pregnant with a girl. I get you must be so excited it is a girl. And I say I would be just excited if it was a boy too. I also get ooo you must be so happy it’s a girl so you don’t have to try a 3rd time.Chat Icon

Like really people!!!Chat Icon

People need to just learn to zip it.

We should find out next week what we are having, and I don't even want to tell people. I'm seriously 50/50 at this point. I can see benefits of having either.

I just want healthy. I want a good, healthy, happy baby, who eats and sleeps well.

I hate the "are you sure there's only one in there?" comments. I don't think I'm carrying large and it just hurts my feelings.

I don't understand why people assume anything. Everyone things DH wanted a boy when he really wanted a girl and he hopes the next one is a girl too.

Ugh, everyone was saying this to me. I would respond " I dont care, as long as the baby is healthy" and then they usually have a dumb look on their face afterwards.

People are really strange!!!

Re: Oh, so you must want this one to be a girl.

sorry i'm crashing, but this totally drives me insane. I had b/g twins so everyone is always saying "oh perfect! you got so lucky". Trust me I am happy to have one of each, but why do they assume I wanted it that way. Initially, I actually thought having twin girls would be great.

It also drives me nuts when people say "oh one of each in one shot, now you're done!" I'm like, "umm, thank you for telling me how many children I am having!" Ppl just assume everyone wants two children...one boy and one girl.

Oh, so you must want this one to be a girl.

I actually thought in my heart we were going to have a second girl and was completely SHOCKED when they said we were having a boy this time. I felt sad DD wouldn't get a sister (I never had a sister and it seemed so sweet to have two girls) but happy instead she'll have a brother!

It so doesn't matter what gender your children are as long as you're a good parent who loves them.

People always ask me if I'm happy we're having one of each and I'm just like "umm, I'm completely scared of the penis and have no clue what I'm doing!!!!" I'd have been just fine having two girls. So am I happy? Sure. But would I be happy either way? Yes!!

i hate these comments as well. We are expecting DD #2 and I am thrilled that my DD will have a baby sister.
The one I have been getting the most is - well I guess you are going to go for #3 to try for a boy. When did it become a must to have a boy and girl child and what makes people think I am going to try for a third baby just to get a boy! And it is not like I have ever said we were planning on having three kids no matter what.

I have twin boys, so everyone and their momma wants this one to be a girl. and thinks i do too. before i was pregnant i wanted a girl, now i really don't care. it would be so nice for my boys to have another brother. and so much cheaper !! (i already have everything.)

it doesnt bother me, bc i think its just a natural reaction and it never comes from a bad place. but if it is a boy, i feel like i let everyone downChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon :hah My cousin text me every day "are you thinking PINK? TEAM PINK THINK PINK" i have started to text back "BLUE"

I get that all the time too! I usually say, if it's a boy, great, we have everything we need. If it's a girl, great - we get to buy fun new things. If one more person tells me I barely showed with DS and now I'm huge - I may lose it!

Oh, so you must want this one to be a girl.

DH and I were joking last night, we are not pregnant or even trying, but I said to him "I couldnt careless what sex we have but the next one better sleep"!!

We have a son who is a terrible sleeper so getting a healthy baby who sleeps well trumps gender preference for us haha

yup heard this with dd#2 and now that im pregnant with the third child im sure when i start telling people ill be getting the ohhhhh so are you hoping for a boy? ummmmmm no actually never did, just a healthy baby and honestly i would think it would be so sweet to have the three girls close in age and if its a boy sooooo great to add something different to our crazy family, it doesn't matter....never understood why anyone would think it does
