Re: oil tank question

We did it in 2003 - we used Slomin's and it cost around $1500.

Re: oil tank question

We just did this over the summer. We used General. I couldn't even breakdown the cost for you w/out getting my paperwork out. We had other work done at the same time.

Re: oil tank question

we had to have our tank replaced because it broke. It was above ground in our basement. Slomins charged us 1500, we put a deposit down of $300 and 12 payments of $100 for a year.

Re: oil tank question

We had a guy from General give us a quote and he offered to do it "on the side" for around $400 bucks.

There are alot of guys that can do it for you "on the side"

Good luck!

Just make sure that these "on the side guys" can also give you the proper documentation to prove legal closure/abandonment. You'll need it when you sell.

If you just want to abandon the tank, look in the local Yankee Trader. There are quite a few who can do this. That's how we did ours about 5 years ago. It cost about $450. The above poster is correct. If the person isn't licensed and you don't have the proper documentation, it can become a huge headache later on.
