OK - we've got the NUMBER of Christmas gifts settled, Now - another question for suggestions

First, thanks to everyone who added such great insight on my other thread.

I think we agree that we are not going overboard with toys and gifts this year, from us, since they're a little young to understand, and as many said, family and friends will be showering them with gifts.

So, where we netted out is we will we do one big santa gift for them both to share. I ordered the Elmo Live, so that will be the gift for both of them. At $60, they're going to learn to share

Now, we'd also love to get them 2-3 individual gifts, each. Obviously, each will get the same thing. I'm thinking 1-2 "play" toys and 1 educational toy.

Any suggestions on what those may be for two 8-month olds?

Thanks again

Oh gosh, anything at that age, all the Fisher Price, Leapfrog, little tykes, playskool toys will have ages on them and even at 7 months, noah played with some stuff that was 12 + months. Plus you want some stuff for them to grow into as you dont wanna buy toys all yr long.

Amazon ususally has a good selection by age.

I agree with the leapfrog table. Noah started playing with it without the legs at that age.

DS is going to get the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn house, and the Leap Frog Learning table--he will also be close to 8 months.

yeah, i guess a trip to Toys R Us would be a good idea Chat Icon

i'm not so much worried about getting things for them to grow into - their b-day is not far from christmas (May)

but good point nonetheless

Fisher Price piano
their own little chairs
a soft babydoll
their own ornaments
balls and things they can chase after
books

It really depends what you think they will get from the rest of the family.

They had a matching "dad", "mom" "grandma" "grandpa" ornament which each got as a present too.

Yes, you would not want 2. It is big.

If I was good at posting pics I would find it and post it for you. I am sure someone on here will post it for you.

I don't know what's out for this Christmas but I will tell you what my DS loved from 8 months + (and still plays with now ....)

LeapFrog Animal Alphabet Discovery Ball - he was able to slap the globe and it would spin for him

External Image

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn: Learning Home - so many things to open & close ... it helped him learn to stand also.
External Image

Little Tykes Little Champs: Sports Center - again, so many things to spin and press
External Image

Little Tykes Handle Haulers Jangles the Circus Hauler - as they crawl, they can hold the handle and move the car around.

External Image

Leap Frog Learn & Groove Counting Maracas - he looooves Maracas - they are like big rattles and who doesn't love a rattle?!

Oh and whatever you do.... Just say NO to the Learning Puppy!

It looks cute... it's sneaky and tricky that way.. but trust me, this thing is PURE EVIL and will haunt you by talking randomly, asking you to SING and PLAY GAMES without you even touching it. You WILL eventually throw it out your front window just to make it KEEP its TRAP SHUT.. it is possessed! Chat Icon
