OK- Bad mommy moment and the ped tomorrow
I had my first bad mommy moment. I was changing Sydnie on the changing table and she was sitting up as I took her shirt off. Suddenly she dives forward for the powder (her obsession) and smacks her head on the railing thing that makes the dresser a changing table. KWIM?
Needless to say I feel like the worst mommy EVER. She wailed for about an eternity and then I distracted her with her carousel.
Now we have the dr tomorrow and I wanted to ask them if it is dangerous for DH to play rough with her (I hate it) but combine that with the bruise she is going to have and they're sure to call CPS on me.
I just feel so awful. Getting annoyed with DH rough housing yet she gets hurt because of me.

Awwww don't feel bad- it happens to all of us and luckily these little stinkers are very resilient ! She was probably more scared than anything and you were probably more scared than she was !

You are a wonderful mommy!! Tell Mike to relax a bit - save the rough play for Atlas, or he can try to give you a son

Accidents happen and it doesn't make you a bad mommy

Re: OK- Bad mommy moment and the ped tomorrow
Maybe not the best advice but just lie to your DH and tell him that the ped said they are fragile and it is best not to rough house because he said he has seen to many accidents happen.
I would not ask the ped about it when your child has a bruise. I would think they would HAVE TO call CPS just in case. They might think you were looking for help without ratting out your DH. KWIM?
As far as the bruise... it was not your fault. We have all been there.

You are a great mommy and it was a complete accident!!! Tell DH to hold off on the rough housing until she's old enough to rough house daddy back

Re: OK- Bad mommy moment and the ped tomorrow
Don't worry - this happens to all kids AND mommies!! A while back, DH was nervous to take Leah to the doc because she has bruises all over her legs from playing. He didn't want the doc to think it was from us . I told him that the doc would probably think there was something wrong if she had NO bruises! That's what happens! Kids play, kids roll, kids fall and it happens. Don't worry - she is fine and you will be too

Re: OK- Bad mommy moment and the ped tomorrow
Don't feel bad. DD was walking the other day with a book and fell and the corner of the book gouged her forehead. She had a cut there for a few days. It LOOKS bad, but realistically you can't help stuff like that. There are plenty of more bumps and bruises to come.
As far as DH, I would just tell him when you get back from the Dr that it's not ok to do that.
