I dunno...I never really thought about it.
I had mine pierced when I was 7 or 8, and it hurt like holy hell and I remember it. I think I would've preferred to have it done when I was younger and wouldn't remember.
Exactly! Plus when I was older, I didn't take care of it and got a nasty staff infection. I mean, really bad to the point where my ear swelled up and I needed to be put on antibiotics. I plan to pierce my baby's ears!

i had my ears pierced as a baby and if i ever had a daughter i would pierce her ears as a baby as well. this way you don't remember the pain! and it looks cute!

I think it's cute on baby girls but I remember getting mine pierced at 8 and the anticipation was special. So if I ever have a girl, I think I want it to be like a bday or end of school present.

I couldn't get my ears pierced until I was 10. My mom wanted me to wait until I was old enough to understand what I needed to do to take care of them during the healing process. Of course back then I hated waiting, but as I got older it made a lot of sense to me. As for others, not my kid so I don't care.

i think it looks strange on babies. i got mine when i was 7 or 8 and it hurt for a second, but definitely not enough for me to consider piercing my baby's ears so she can avoid it. it's just a quick pinch. i probably stubbed my toe that same day and felt more pain than i did from the piercing.

i love earings on babies... it definitely helps tell the difference... i was an ugly baby and definitely could have passed for a boy w/o my ears pierced

I think it's cute. However, I think in a baby that is too young, the earrings could get snagged on a blanket or something like that. I would probably wait until the child is at least five or so.
Then again, I'm paranoid.

My parents had my ears pierced when I was only a few months old. The pediatrician did it. I've actually heard it's better to do on a young baby rather than a toddler or young child b/c the toddler will touch and mess with them whereas a young baby won't.
