Although I don't feel the same way as you, there have been many posts from people who do feel the same....do what makes you comfortable!
ITA. Some moms still want to BF but with a pump. Some just want to use formula. Either cases, that does not make you a better or worst mom.
Do what is best for you!

I definitely had a lot of the same feelings as you before I had DD and DS. However, I gave it a try and to my surprise, it seemed very natural. But here's the even weirder part...now that I'm done nursing them, when I think about again, it seems weird to me again!!

I felt that it was more natural than I thought it would be but that is interesting that it feels weird again.
It is probably that you see them back as part of your body and for your DH again! THat is a good thing!

You're not a weirdo at all...do what makes you comfortable...I on the other hand will definitely try nursing and am planning on nursing/pumping until at least 6 months to a year...

I understand how you feel, but would urge you to try to get past your discomfort to at least give it a try. It really offers amazing health benefits for both the baby and for you...

As a breastfeeding mom, I can tell you your feelings are totally normal. I always knew I would breastfeed, but was totally weirded out by the idea of actually doing it. I can tell you it isn't as weird as it seems. After getting past the first few weeks it has become a very natural and enjoyable part of my relationship with DS. Now, I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I was weirded out by it before I became a mother.

I am nursing, but I know how difficult it can be for some people to do for a multitude of reasons. A very good friend of mine wanted to nurse but just could not get past the suckling bit. She decided to pump exclusively, and although it is more time consuming, she found that it was a good compromise.
No matter what you decide, you have to do what is right for you. It is a very personal decision, and one that you have to feel comfortable with.

you are not a weirdo for feeling this way. i only let myself think about the "person sucking away on me" a couple of times. Now i just block it out of my mind and I figure i will try it - if it works - great, if not, so be it (at least i tried). Personally i would feel guilty if i did not at least try (also because my mother is INSISTS its a must).
its a personal preference. I do like the calorie burning thing if thats true but alot of women on the parenting board said they didn't lose anyway so who knows.
P.S. i will be pumping if possible since i need to return to work
