In this case I wouldn't say that is the reason you are applying and are interested in the position.
I was home full time with my kids for 6 years so I HAD to mention the gap in my resume. I went back PT and now am looking for FT work, so I still mention my kids but only related to the gap in time, and how I went PT and am now completely ready and looking for FT work. Basically, I keep it brief.
