Ok, send me moral support!!
Hi, ladies,
Just wanted to ask you all to send vibes my way that I can be strong this Sunday. It's my sister's baby shower and I know it's going to be alot of fun and I'm so happy for her & her fiance but I just want to make sure I'm surrounded by positive thoughts so I don't get upset inside. I know you guys understand what I mean.

Here is a  . I totally know how you feel about baby showers. I have been sending gifts but not attending them lately. I know that sounds selfish but I just cant do it right now. Try to be strong and positive that you will be attending your own shower one day soon.

I totally agree! I haven't gone to any showers either- I don't think it's selfish at all- you're TTC and making sure your both mentally and physically in the best state of mind!!! We do what we have to do, right?
Good luck- it will def. be hard- I threw 2 baby showers (1 each for both SILs) and it was rough- ESPECIALLY for my 2nd (who is younger than DH and I and wasn't even with her boyfriend anymore)... but I got thru it, and I know you will as well.

I guess when it's your sister you can't back out. It will be your time soon. I haven't been to one or been invited to one since TTC. I think I have one coming up though with my friend who was TTC same time as me. She's now 5 months (or over 5 months by now). Maybe they'll just forget about me and I wont have to go. Her family doesn't know me, we were work friends.
Anyway, sorry, back to you....I wish you luck and strength. Hopefully it wont be as bad as you anticipate it to be. It usually never is. Better to get it out now before the party. Vent vent vent......

I do the same thing but I send money i cant even go to buy a gift. I did go to my cousins this past Sunday. My Mother and Sister needed a ride. So I really ended up having a nice time. I really focused on my Cousins and Aunts that I hardly see and got into great long converstions. Before I knew it I was back in my car driving home!! So ask God to Bless you on Sunday with a warm heart and to keep your mind from any self pity or sadness, Thats what I did. And it really worked.

Good luck! Back in the years (and years, and years...) before I met DH, I stayed busy at showers by doing everything I could to help out -- running games, hauling gifts, making the bow hat -- just about anything to keep me away from the chit-chat and the invevitable looks of pity.
Stay strong. It's only four hours and you will get through it.

Honestly, I hate showers (even before going through this) so I just make sure to get myself a job...helping with the gifts or something, to get through it.

Thanks for all the support, ladies!!
It turned out to be a wonderful day for my sister and I'm so happy. I think it helped that we had our IUI on Friday & Saturday and I'm feeling really good about it.
