OK so i get alittle freaked out when there are sooooo many views but with very little response .......

am i the only one that feels this ????

and why is it that some posts get sooooo many responses and others hardly any ??

is it due to the posters being more familiar to others .....

i just feel weirded out that people look but dont respond

Depends on the post.

Like for instance, I might keep reviewing a thread to see what other people say on it. So then it gets a bunch more views by people doing that.

I understand. Sometimes this happens to some of my post. This is why I try not open a post that I can not answer

I can honestly say I don't get freaked out even a little.

I will often open a post in error.. or I will open it and figure I have nothing further to contribute after reading the responses - or I have something to contribute but don't have the time to write it all out - or don't know where to even BEGIN.

Sometimes I open a post out of sheer curiousity because there are 7000000 replies or views.

And then there is always the fact that refreshing a page makes it look like another view when it isn't really.

This was a topic of discussion not too long ago...

I definitely think some of it has to do with people who have been on here a long time and consider each other friends...but not always...

Someone pointed out something that was very true - not only what Marcie said about people continuing to check back for responses/updates, but also there are a lot of lurkers who simply don't post, but are interested...

I did post on your original post, and glad to see your DC is making progress!!

I get this all the time - luckily I do get some good responses so I kind of ignore it. This is a very old question that comes up over and over - some people get 100 responses when they ask a question - another person asks the same question and gets 2 responses.

Just putting aside the "familiar poster" argument for a moment, I know I tend to forget that I've read a post especially when I haven't posted on it. This means that I click on it repeatedly throughout the day and then close out of it once I read the content assuming I have nothing to contribute.

Also, I tend to open posts, start replying and then get caught up in work. By the time I get back to my response I figure it's been so long that my answer isn't necessary anymore so I close out w/o replying.

In my experience I will look at a post and forget I already read on it and will click on it again...giving it another view.

Or I will go on a post at work, but not have time to write a response.

Or like others said I feel I don't have anything else to add so I don't respond.

As PP said, a lot of times, I just don't have anything further to say. Or I have a big problem with forgetting what posts I've already read through.

Only time freaks me out, is when someone indicates in subject that its a bath picture or someone what bare shot and it has a large number of views and limited # of responses.. Freaks me out that their are sick lurkers out there trying to get some sick fantasy off them

Sometimes I don't have anything worthwhile/answer to a question to say so I don't respond.

Sometimes I open a post to learn about something, yet not respond to it.

Sometimes a post goes down the tubes and I don't respond but I check it multiple times to see how far in the toilet its gone.

I have only met a few people from the site IRL and I do tend to check out their posts, but not any more than a stranger. Lots of times I pay no attention to who the poster is.

Subject lines are what draws me to a post - not the poster.

Well, I don't know why you would get freaked out by it....I mean, there are a lot of reasons why someone would look at a post and not respond. I read all the BFing posts and I never BFed and probably never will, but they are interesting to me and I also will look at them for my BFF who did BF.

And I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh, but I have a tendency to not post on people's threads who just post questions and who just post pictures and never respond to other people's questions or photo threads. It is a pet peeve of mine. People can flame me if they want, but at the same time, I feel that this board is give and take and in order to get responses on your posts you have to give them as well.

i always try to respond when I look in a post, unless I really cant think of anything to say or how to answer a question.

I ALWAYS respond to pics peopel post if I look at the thread. It bothers me a little when I post pics of Katie and barely anyone responds so I try not to do that to people

I'll be honest. Right now I rarely have two hands to type with. I can surf when I'm nursing but not type so I view but don't response and I try to get back later but that rarely happens.
