Nope, there are others, as you can see 
and why is it that some posts get sooooo many responses and others hardly any ??
Could be the topic (like this one will get more responses than a typical post), could be the poster is more familiar.
It's a message board... and that's the nature of the beast.

Nope...never "freaked me out".
I rarely even pay attention to how often a post, mine or otherwise, gets repsonded to. I never found the amount of responses to be that important.

When I post questions or anecdotes, no, it doesn't. Sometimes I get a great answer quickly, and I know if I read a post and someone already says what I would say, I often don't reply. Sometimes I don't choose a great subject line, there are lots of reasons.
It did bother me when I posted photos of DS though, and I'll be honest, I stopped posting them and don't post as much as I used to on this board for that reason. I know a lot of people know each other and that's probably mostly the reason, but it still bugged me.

I try to respond to everything I open.... but like other have said when the baby is up I am sometime just reading or typing with one hand.

Sometimes I read a thread and have nothing to add.
Sometimes I see posts I simply in my head and rather than start a war, I keep things to myself.
Sometimes I like to read drama. I admit it.
That is how I contribute to high post counts.
As far as being freaked out or disappointed if there are few responses, its not my style. Some people have the same rationale that I do. It is fine by me.

Well, I don't know why you would get freaked out by it....I mean, there are a lot of reasons why someone would look at a post and not respond. I read all the BFing posts and I never BFed and probably never will, but they are interesting to me and I also will look at them for my BFF who did BF.
And I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh, but I have a tendency to not post on people's threads who just post questions and who just post pictures and never respond to other people's questions or photo threads. It is a pet peeve of mine. People can flame me if they want, but at the same time, I feel that this board is give and take and in order to get responses on your posts you have to give them as well.
I could have actually written this word for word. I do the same thing with BF posts too - although I never have, and never will BF. For some reason I'm intrigued by them though!

i notice this sometimes also...sometimes i think maybe i have an answer but then realize i have no clue...other times im at home on dial up and just want to read and possibly get some knowledge from other ppls answers...and im sure some ppl are just lurking! ( i do that on preg. and ttc!)

It's how forums work.
I never, ever look at the # of views, because it's really so insignificant. I probably read 10 threads for every post I make. Some days I don't feel like doing any posting but I open and read many threads. The next day (or later on) I come back to the thread to reply. Or I go back to it to read replies, but I don't have anything to add. There are a MYRIAD of reasons people view threads but don't post. It's definitely NOT something to be freaked out about.

I TOTALLY know what you mean! I mentioned this last night. I posted my DDs 2 month old pro pics and got a whole bunch of views and no responses for a long time. It makes me sad.  Here is my post: REILLY'S PICS

Please don't be sad...this happens to me a lot too, but with a face like that beautiful baby of yours, you shouldn't even think twice about it!! I'm so sorry I didn't comment...I don't remember seeing them because if I had I would have said how beautiful they are!!
The truth is there are some who post a lot (pics included) but maybe don't respond a lot...I used to pay attention to it, but now I don't care...I post to post, not to keep tabs on who is responding to me...if they don't think my kids are cute (but honestly, who wouldn't think my kids are cute LOL), well, tough patooties!!!
