OK, so I used to have eating issues but for the most part,

am over it. However, have you ever looked at photos and thought, "Wow; I'm too thin. I could gain a few." And then you DO gain a few and feel absolutely gross? When I got married, I was 115 at 5'4"...I look a little thin and bony in some photos. Now I'm more like 121 and I don't know if it's my head or what....I told DH I wanted to lose weight and he freaked out on me....I feel like I want to lose a few and that I can control it now, but sometimes I think I still can't "see" what I look like.

I am the same height as you and I would kill to be 121 lbs! I am waaaaay over that. It doesn't sound like you need to lose weight!

Re: OK, so I used to have eating issues but for the most part,

Why do you think you need to lose weight?

Do you feel like you look fat or is there spots that you would like to tone? Or is it just the # on the scale that is bothering you?
There is a big difference between them

definitely the number...but also, since some of my clothes are from that 115 time, they are snug and it's pizzing me off....I don't know if I should let myself just be "me" now or what....

Maybe instead of trying to loose weight to fit into some old clothes you can tone up. You're so into Yogo so it shouldn't be hard. You seem to maintain a very healthy lifestyle, be proud of that, not ashamed of the number that shows up when you step on the scale.

Re: OK, so I used to have eating issues but for the most part,

I've had weight issues in the past on opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm 5'3" & there was a time & thought anything over 112lbs was horrific. I struggled a long time with eating healthy. After I got married, I steadily gained weight throughtout two pregnancies & then gained a significant amount afterwards. It took a long time to be comfortable in my own skin, but I'm there.

I've definitely looked at pictures & thought I looked gross. Even when I was looking at pictures at 102lbs, I never once thought of myself as too thin.

If you've had weight issues before, I could see why DH freaked out. It's a slippery slope where you want to lose 5 lbs & next thing you know you're wondering if toothpaste has calories. Be careful.

Re: OK, so I used to have eating issues but for the most part,

I am 5'4" and 120 and would love to lose 5lbs, or maybe not even lose the weight but just tone up some flabby spots after having my son last year. I know what you mean about how you "see" yourself. I know I'm on the thin side but feel jiggly and gross when I'm not working out which I haven't been lately...hoping to change that soon! I've seen your pics and you are gorgeous, I too have clothes that no longer fit but have decided that buying 1 size up is OK too - and I feel better when my clothes fit right!Chat Icon

I completely understand how you feel and I posted a similar experience I was having a few weeks ago. I don't really have any advice, but just Chat Icon Chat Icon

For me, it helped when I started to get rid of my pants that no longer and fit and bought some new pants. I noticed that I feel a lot better about myself when I am not sausaged into my pants. I am not reminded as much about my weight gain.

Re: OK, so I used to have eating issues but for the most part,

I know exactly what you mean. there are times when you know you're thin, but you just don't feel like yourself.

Is it just temporary - like bloating or something? Or is it just those few pounds?

I also notice when my pants are tight in the thighs and it drives me nuts.

Because you've had problems in the past, you should definitely be careful, but maybe just make an effort to eat extra healthy for a few weeks or make your workouts slightly more intense?

Re: OK, so I used to have eating issues but for the most part,

I totally know what you mean, Lana!

Like sometimes I just don't know what weight is perfect for me. I either feel too heavy or too thin...there is no perfect weight lately. I got down to my prepregnancy weight (130 lbs) and kept losing and got to 127 lbs...well my parents saw me and freaked out and my FIL told me I am starting to look "gaunt". Ok...well, 127 lbs at 5'6" is not gaunt. I still feel like I need to lose more, but I am getting so much push back from my family and am now just totally confused....

Well, I will tell you 5'6" at that weight might be a bit thin...but it depends on your frame. But I TOTALLY know how you feel. If you're like me, you feel best when you're tiny. It can get confusing. I mean, I have always had a super tiny upper body. Yoga has made me stronger and although it looks good, I'm not used to looking "bigger" so my minor weight gain could be muscle but I'm very confused about how it makes me feel.... ????
