Okay ladies, I need going out help and advice!
DH's birthday is coming up, and we are going out with a group of his friends to Miller's Ale House in Levittown. He is off the next day so he will be drinking his face off - which is fine with me, I'm encouraging it, since he won't get to do that for a while after DD is born 
Because we live so far away I am driving. That means I'll have to stay until at least 1-2am.
I have to work that day, so I won't get to nap.
What can I do to make sure I have fun and don't get totally wiped out?
I want DH to have fun, but I am totally dreading this.

i say go sit in the car and close your eyes for a bit while out. I would totally do that. Also, perhaps DH can drive there so you can sit back and relax a bit. Pick out your clothes in advance so you're not stressing beforehand. Keep well hydrated- I love to have cranberry, seltzer and lime while out. It makes me feel like I am partaking in the festivities as well!

Not sure your personal policy on caffeine while pregnant but I was going to suggest a cup of coffee before hand or a coke at the bar as a pick me up.

What time are you leaving to go out? Have DH take care of Luca for the evening while you just chill out in your room with the door closed. Then have him drive there while you relax on the ride over.
You'll be fine once you get out with everyone.

We're bringing Luca to my mom's house, he's spending the night. But he will be home way before me, so he can get Luca from daycare and get him and his bag ready. Good idea!

I find although I can't make it that late at home when I am out I am fine because I am socializing and keeping busy. I agree with the coffee and perhaps just try and catch some extra sleep the night before.

I agree with the drinking caffine. This is what I do if we have an event. A nice cold coca-cola does the trick without giving me the jitters like coffee does.

ITA, at home, I'm always in bed around 10-11. When we're out, I am usually fine until at least 1am. Stay hydrated. Geta good night's rest the night before. Have a cup of coffee before the drive home.
