Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
to have another one. MAYBE
Or maybe it's just because all my friends around me are pregnant.
SO, mommies of 2 kids (because that's all I'm going to have)...tell the truth...is it extremely difficult with 2 or will I be able to deal? Dh and I are looking to start trying in January....maybe
Oh boy...I'm just not sure what I want to do....

Really? No advice because I'll be embarking on insanity soon myself.

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
Well, I'm less than a month in, but I have to say...it's been MUCH easier than I thought it would be. OK, I probably just jinxed myself I was totally freaking out about this subject for most of the pregnancy, but so far, so good!
It's been a PITA to go back to the infant carrier and the middle of the night feedings, but overall, it's been pretty manageable--of course, I didn't realize until now how easy 1 is!
I hardly know anyone who is an only child, so I keep telling myself "Everyone does it and so can I!!"

Two isn't that bad. I had DD#2 when my oldest was 2 and it was pretty easy.

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
I have to say that right now, with a newborn, 2 is really not much different than having 1. She sleeps alot during the day and is really great at night too. My little boy is not jealous of her at all and really doesn't bother with her much. I'm sure once she is more mobile it will get a little harder.
I was just like you - I was always saying I am not having another one and then I started getting the itch. I am very happy with 2 and I can say I am done now.

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
Mine are exactly two years apart. Honestly, I did not find the adjustment hard at all going to two. The baby is so easy at first (well, BESIDES the sleepless nights) that you can give attention to the older one.
However, now that they are 1 and 3, they are giving me a run for my money being so active and I thought another was possible, but now I am almost sure I am done

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
It really isn't that hard. For me, Jack has always been hard and is still a hard toddler, Molly is a breeze. SHe just goes with the flow, sleeps anywhere, etc. So it is much more manageable than I expected.

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
It really depends on the children. My dd who is 5 years old than my ds is very hyper and instigates him at every moment she can.

Oooohhh Stefanie!! Whatever decision you make will be right for you, DH and Jared.
I'll let you know how 2 are (plus 2 dogs).....
Our original intention was to wait till about now to try for #2 making them 2 1/2 years apart (me and my sis are 2 yrs 10 mths apart).
Now I'm kind of glad I'm getting all the hard stuff out of the way....maybe in 5 years I'll actually have a mind of my own, time to myself, and a decent sex life.....

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
as someone who has been TTC #2 for a while I say go for it. However, I also had some issues with my DH , although they were different issues than you have recently posted about, they were issues just the same. We spent some time working those out first to strengthen our marriage in anticipation of #2. And I would 100% suggest this to anyone in a situation with marital issues and thinking about expanding a family. Good luck to you and when you feel the time is right for #2

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
I had mine a year apart to the day and loved it...my dd was sort of hard due to colic but it had nothing to do with having two at a time. and insane as it sounds==with the twins eleven years later I found them even easier. I think two or more is always easier. They occupy each other

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
I don't think it's too bad. Patrick ws a little bit of a tougher newborn then Ryan was so that was tough but you get in the routine of it pretty quick. I was wondering when you were going to join me!

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
It really isnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. The hardest thing for me is getting out the door. No matter how I try to plan before hand, I can't seem to get out when I plan. My DH usually doesn't help bc he has a hard enough time getting himself dressed to be on time for something. I can get myself and the boys bathed and dressed and still end up waiting for DH to finish.
The baby sleeps most of the day and is pretty easy going. So I am able to give Nate the attention he needs. Plus I have my little helper, who likes to get diapers, bottles and throw stuff in the trash.

Re: Okay...so maybe I'm getting the itch...
I'm not going to lie - its tough. But its mostly b/c Jack is a high needs child. However, its getting a little easier now that he's not attached to my leg all the time
I never really posted much about what I went through with Jack. I had a rough time for awhile but every child is different and I'm a "colic survivor" LOL.
There are days where its easy - they don't fight, they love eachother, I can cook without having to stop and yell every 3 seconds and then there are days where I'm counting the minutes till bedtime LOL.
At the end of the day when they kiss eachother good night and hug it just makes it worth it.
