OMG, Cleaning up after a toddler is IMPOSSIBLE!!
Mama Mia! To make matters worse, i have no dishwasher or w/d in my apartment. With the constant spills/sippy cups/plates/yogurt/diapers/toys/books/her special cabinet that I made for her to dig through/tissues/wipes...it's endless! Even with a cleaning service twice a month I find it impossible to keep my house looking neat. Do I just have to let it go a little? How do you all do it?

Honestly? I don't.
I keep the kitchen spotless at all times, but as far as the toys? I can't keep up with that on a daily basis, especially being huge and pregnant. I'd say I pick up her toys once every 3-4 days.
I used to stress out over it...but then I realized that it's not really worth it!

Re: OMG, Cleaning up after a toddler is IMPOSSIBLE!!
I know - it drives me crazy. I should pick up every night and sometimes I don't.
Yesterday morning DD went into the den, looked around and said, "Mommy, I make a mess everyday"
At least she knows!!
And why is she so helpful with cleaning up at daycare and Gymboree classes but refuses to do anything at home????

I don't either....truth be told, I make him do it.
Usually with the idea that once he cleans he can have the next toy, activity, dinner, tv show etc that he wants. It usually works as a motivator.
I also try to get him to clean up one toy before he's allowed to have the next. This way if he doesn't clean up at the end of the day....it's just one or two things for me to pick up (i've even left it for him to clean the next day before he gets snack for example)

Re: OMG, Cleaning up after a toddler is IMPOSSIBLE!!
My DD turns this house upside down in no time!!!!! I love a clean house but I have learned to let go. However, the messes she makes now is rediculous. She is into cutting and gluing and there are scraps, pictures, glue, scissors, crayons, etc all over all of the time. Plus now she loves changing her clothes 4 times a day. The toys I wouldn't mind so much - if she ever played with them

I feel the same way! Our family room where he plays is constantly a disaster! I would let it go, but it drives DH crazy so I usually end up picking up at least once / day!

I am exhausted each night b/c I refuse to go to bed with toys all over, crumbs all over or dishes dirty. But yes, I am beat every day and night.
