I preface this by saying that I am a democrat. I actually found McCain pretty likable... at first. I liked Obama but felt that McCain was a good guy and could be a lot worse. I can't stand Palin and think she is incredibly unqualified but I'm liking McCain and the republicans less and less as the campaign goes on. To be honest, I'm liking politicians in general less and less.
Everyone is so slimy and hypocritical . i think they start off with good intentions but then it spirals out of control

They were even making fun of him on CNN, "oh he went back to Washington to help solve this, How did that turn out." Paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it.
This is DEF not the time for blame. FIX the problem and save the country. MAN UP!!!

Re: OMG-I am so sad (poli post)
Real Karl Rove tactics--point fingers at someone and accuse them of the things you are most guilty of.
I don't know what happened to John McCain--I liked the guy we saw in 2000, but he has vanished. This is an entirely different person.
Uhm, it seems as if it was the republicans who held this bill up more than anyone--though they will blame it on Pelosi. I think they didn't want to vote for it and seized upon her speech as an excuse. While what she said was true, she probably should have saved it for another time. Still, to not vote based upon what she said? Come on, how childish!

Re: OMG-I am so sad (poli post)
I'm so sad too...
check out a little organization called ACORN - and Obama's affliation with them when he was a community organizer.
"If you don’t know what ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is all about, you better bone up. This left-wing group takes in 40 percent of its revenues from American taxpayers — you and me — and has leveraged nearly four decades of government subsidies to fund affiliates that promote the welfare state and undermine capitalism and self-reliance, some of which have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and encouraging voter fraud. A new whistleblower report from the Consumer Rights League documents how Chicago-based ACORN has commingled public tax dollars with political projects.
Who in Washington will fight to ensure that your money isn’t being spent on these radical activities?
Don’t bother asking Barack Obama. He cut his ideological teeth working with ACORN as a “community organizer” and legal representative. Naturally, ACORN’s political action committee has warmly endorsed his presidential candidacy."

Re: OMG-I am so sad (poli post)
here's something else about Obama and ACORN
U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign paid more than $800,000 to an offshoot of the liberal Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now for services the Democrat's campaign says it mistakenly misrepresented in federal reports.
An Obama spokesman said Federal Election Commission reports would be amended to show Citizens Services Inc. -- a subsidiary of ACORN -- worked in "get-out-the-vote" projects, instead of activities such as polling, advance work and staging major events as stated in FEC finance reports filed during the primary.
"ACORN has a long and sordid history of employing convoluted Enron-style accounting to illegally use taxpayer funds for their own political gain," Terry claimed. "Now it looks like ACORN is using the same type of convoluted accounting scheme for Obama's political gain."

I only caught the end of the debate, but I completely agree. It *was* embarrassing. He kept saying things like, "I have met the veterans and they know I will help them, blah blah blah I have visited that country and I know the people and I know how to help them....etc" But HOW will you help them?
