On the path of "crazy" Q posts... don't you wish..?
That you could leave DC home to running errands?
Like I could go to Lowe's to get potting soil and get back in 20 minutes, while DS is taking a nap.
Wouldn't it be nice????
Unfortunatelly my dogs have not been trained in CPR

I totally hear you!!!!!!
One of those things you would never do..but wish you could.
Like duct taping the binky in...
or
Velcroing them to the stroller...

I do it all the time, I leave Steve from Blues Clues in charge. He seems to ignore me when I leave him instructions and does this weird "flashing motion" with his hands, but other than that, he seems competent. He does take really good care of his salt and pepper shakers.

My mother is constantly asking me when I'm running errands "Is Jack with you?" - my reply always "No, Abby is watching him" Oh how I wish!

Re: On the path of "crazy" Q posts... don't you wish..?
or leave a sleeping DC in the car to run into 7-11 or DD for coffee? I'd never do it, but oh, the temptation is there.....
Before DS, I rarely used a drive through, I now know where all the drive though Dunkin donuts are in my area.

This is one plus of me working even though I wish I was a SAHM. I run 75% of my errands during my lunch hour during the week-- alone, and quickly!

My job in high school was to sit in the car with a baby while the mom went into stores.
I always thought the best business was a healthy food drive through. There is a reason why our kids know McDonald's & Burger King. Build a Trader Joe's drive through window & I'm there.

How freaking awesome would that be?
I don't particularly like our CVS, but the reason I stay? Drive through pharmacy!

Re: On the path of "crazy" Q posts... don't you wish..?
Back in the day people used to do this! Some stories I've heard - leave the kids at home with the phone off the hook and go across the street to the neighbors to play cards with the phone call to their house _kind of like a monitor I guess
- leave the kids sleeping/ in a playpen and go for a jog around the neighborhood
It is a nice thought though

I would pay $5.00 for a bagel at a Drive Through Bagel store. Every morning I have to schlep Jack out of the car, he runs around like a lunatic for the two mins we are in there, and then I have to wrestle him back in.

All the time!!! I can't stand when I have to lug my sleeping baby because I have to get milk or a bagel or go to the post office. You wanna know the Crazyiest thing though????? MY parents left me in the crib sleeping once and went to run an errand and when they came back to their surprize I was not in the crib!!! Where was I???? I had climbed out of the crib (for the 1st time) crawled under their bed and was about to unplug the air conditioner!!!! My mom screams and my dad takes the camera and snaps a picture LMAOOOOO I gotta find that pic and post it! TRUE story!!!!!!!!!
OK here it is!!!!!!! Image Attachment(s):

every once in a while, all 3 kids will nap at the same time for 2+ hours, and all i think is "wow, i could get so much done if I could leave them home right now"

Re: On the path of "crazy" Q posts... don't you wish..?
Don't think I haven't thought about it! I'm within walking distance from my town (post office, 7-11, gorcery store, everything!) and DH and I are always tempted to see just how far the monitor would work! Especially since our favorite bar is even closer! It's an ongoing joke with us, what people would think if they saw us in there with the baby monitor

SAME HERE!!! I keep a running list and go out during lunch to do what I need to do. I get done so much faster than when it's a weekend and I have Athan and all his stuff.

I'm glad you posted this because I thought I was the only one who though this!
Funny story-we used to live in Charleston right downtown and about 200 yards away there was a restaurant. My friend and I and DH were sitting around one night when I was PG and he said well when they come we can go to dinner at XYZ restaurant and bring the monitor. I started at him like Ummmmm No we can't!!

I do wish that sometimes! Lucky for me I have a really large network of girlfriends who live within 1/2 a mile from me, and we love to have each others kids for short playdates...even at short notice! Thanks Liz & Denise!
