Once upon a child...Q

I just got a bunch of stuff together to sell to Once Upon a Child. I want to head up there this week. Has anyone sold stuff to them? Do they give you a reasonable return? I have so many things w/ tags still on that she didn't have a chance to wear & other things she may have worn once/twice.

How do they come up w/ a $ amount?

Do they take things like gifts too? (Photo albums, stuffed animals, picture frames?)

I'm pretty sure that they don't do buy backs on the weekend, so just call to make sure.

All newborn clothes needs to be new with tags. I have never sold them my stuff, but if dc#2 is a boy, I will have a ton to sell. SO, I can't say how much they give for your items. I know that they do take the small items that you mentioned.

I brought Ava's crib bedding there last week. Bedding is the only item that they take on consignment. Which means that they will try to sell it for a few months, and if it sells, you split it 50/50.

Hope that helps. Good Luck!

I was there last week and they are not doing any buybacks this week at all. They don't take clothes under 24 months unless they are new with tags. They do take other stuff but I guess it's at their discretion based upon what they think will sell or what they have already.

When I've sold to them, I've never broken down the price per item when it comes to clothes. They give you a total amount after they add up everything they will buy and you can take it or leave it. I guess most people take it since they are happy to get the cash on the spot. I honestly never asked how much they give per shirt, pants, etc. When you go in with a ton of stuff, it's kind of hard to stand there and ask how much for this and that... They will not charge you tax if you shop there on the spot on that money. Talk about a coup!

I've yet to sell them something bigger like a swing or other baby item or big toys. IMO, it's better to try to sell that stuff on craigslist if you really want to get as much for it as you can, they don't give that much. I remember someone bringing in an Aquarium swing and they were going to give her $10 for it. But if you just want it gone and the money in your pocket without hassles, it's the place.
