We went along with the daycare schedule, as they too have a rule, that its one nap a day once they move your child into the toddler room.

See, this is my biggest beef with it, I think. They call his room Infant C but they don't have cribs, they're not allowed in at all unless it's before 930am and they only take 1 nap a day. So Infant C actually means Toddler-except-that-we-still-charge-as-an-infant.

I've had some issues with my daycare lately, sorry for the vents Chat Icon Chat Icon

This is awful to me - Colin's daycare does is the same thing. He is still a full-on two nap a day kid (even after having been in the next room for 2 months) which means my 1 hour at night with him is disastrous. He's literally EXHAUSTED. And on Wed and Sat, when we're home, he sleeps half the days away trying to catch up Chat Icon I hate it and I cannot wait until he's out of daycare b/c of it.

I know - I told DH he'll start one nap when I'm on maternity leave and bedtime can be turned back a bit Chat Icon

How ya feeling Eileen??

Colin is allowed to do 1 nap if he's willing to start potty training while I'm on leave Chat Icon

Feeling good, just exhausted but that's to be expected I suppose. You??

My DD is not in daycare, but she only takes 1 nap. She is 13 months and has been doing this for 2 months now. Here one nap is between 2 1/2 -3 hours and she still goes down for bed around 8:30 with no problem.

On occasion she may take a short afternoon nap.

DS started napping 1x at 12 months when he started his new daycare....best thing for us because that one nap was like 3 hours long when he was home on the weekend. Now he sleep more like 2 or 2.5 hours on the weekend for that one nap at almost 2 years old.

He transitioned very well and has days where he sleeps 2 hours in daycare.

My kids started taking one nap before they were one, in fact I think DS2 was six months old. I loved it because my mornings wouldn't be hung up with naps and then they'd take much longer naps, like three hours instead of two little hour or less naps.

Cailen transitioned to the "big kid" class at 13 months, where they had a set nap schedule (one nap a day) - the ironic thing was, he never napped in the baby room where they all had different schedules (he rarely naps with us still) but in the toddler classes at daycare, when the lights are out and everyone goes on their cot, he submits to peer pressure and he takes the one way ticket to snoozeville for a good 2-2.5 hours. We call it the daycare phenomenon because he still won't take a nap like that for us!Chat Icon
