OOS househunting?
Where do you even begin. Online searches, school research, jobs, temporary rentals? We are looking to go to NC. From what I heard the job market is great for nurses. But I don't want to just buy anywhere.

Re: OOS househunting?
i would try the city data forums, if you have an idea on what location you are looking for you can post in that specific city's forum and i have found a lot of helpful info on there (except DH is dead set against moving OOS). Good luck! ETA not sure if you're looking at Charlotte, but when i was researching, a lot of people around the area seemed to be happy with schools in Union county and in Fort Mill, SC which is right over the SC border.

Re: OOS househunting?
I know there are a handful of posters on here who relocated to NC.....of course I can't think of their names right now.
In any event, I don't know if I would necessarily BUY a place though as a brand new transplant.
I'd look into renting in an area for awhile and then go from there.

Re: OOS househunting?
We have friends and family in the Raleigh area. We would definitely want to stay near them. And I think there are a lot of nursing jobs in Raleigh as well. Thanks for the help ladies.

OOS househunting?
Personally, I would rent for a few months and then look into buying. We did that. Gave us time to learn about neighborhoods, school districts, town offerings, etc.

This is probably what we would do. We'd definitely want to stay near family but not necessarily in the same town.

My sister just moved to Waxhau NC. She is in an excellent school district if that matters to you. She did alot of online searches. Hope that helps.
