Opinions: Fixed Rate or CAP for oil?
Shopping around best deal so far is fixed rate $3.89 or CAP at 4.39. Since its election year i dont want to get screwed with a fixed b/c it may come down or seriously go up. Ughh, opinions needed since i just ended my contract with Petro

DH and I struggled with this for awhile and finally decided it is a gamble either way. Last year we made out well, locking in at about 2.15/gal, this year the caps are really high and we haven't found a company willing to lock-in a rate (we are Upstate) we ended up pre-paying for 1,000 gallons at 15 cents below the daily rate.
The rate could drop significantly and we will lose some money, but it could also go up again, in that case we'd save.

We locked in at a cap. this is the first yr we did this becuase we got locked in for 3 yrs. We usually lock in for 1 yr at a fixed rate. It is like playing the stock market. HTH

I always do a cap. I was told once it leaves more wiggle room.

Romanelli, i called a few places and need to make a decision. I spoke to Mike and he was very good to deal with not like some of the other places
