OPK questions? and LH surge question?

I have been using the FRER OPK's this cycle.

I tested yesterday at 2pm and had two lines the same color...(which should mean a positive). I never have had my result line darker then the test line ...just the lines equal to each other. Does that matter?


I tested again last night and got a negative...plus a negative this morning.

Is that normal to just get a positive for only a few hours yesterday at 2pm. Is the LH surge just for a short period time???? Then nothing that same night and nothing this morning.


Also, i have been taking mucinex....and no EWCM.


SO i guess my questions are...

1. Can you just have a very short surge for only a few hours??? Or should it last a few days?

2. Do you get the result line darker than the test line??? The few times i have tried opk's my line just became equal never darker than the test line?

3. Has anyone gotten their BFP without the EWCM? There have been some months i have gotten it but not this month....(even using Mucinex.) I think i need to go buy preseed.

Thanks! I am just worrying a little. This is the first cycle trying after my mc. And i just so want another BFP again soon.

I have read that you can have a short surge and miss it so that is why some people like to test twice a day like you did. I think it could also depend on the concentration of LH in the urine you are using to test. I can't help with the CM question because when I was pregnant with DS, I wasn't tracking so I'm really not sure. Now I have been paying closer attention to it, I don't think that I get a lot. I didn't use anything to promote it this cycle, but I am still hoping for my BFP. If I get it- (fingers crossed!) then at least we'll know it is possible to get a BFP w/o too much EWCM.

For the OPK's, equal darkness to the control line is ok. I like the digital smiley though!

I used CBE OPKs that had smileys so I didn't have to decipher, sorry. I read that a girl didn't have EWCM ever...so I think you're fine.

Your surge can definitely be just a few hours...like PP said, that's why some people test twice a day if they don't get a + result.

I have only gotten equal lines on the OPK, I think that still counts at +.

Sorry, I can't help with the EWCM...I usually have some, and I did the month I got pg. Like Heather said, I have read about others who have very little/no EWCM and can still get pg. I know you are already taking Mucinex...I also read that grapefruit juice can help increase EWCM. I am trying that this month!
