Organization Question...

if you finde a recipe or article that you find useful or want to hold on to in order to refer to in the future....

what do you do?

keep the magazine?
clip the item--and if so where do you store it?

Clip it and stick it in one of my recipe books...I probably should come up with a new method so I know exactly what I have

I actually have them taped inside a cabinet I dont really use that ofter. I loose pieces of paper to easy.

I used to save them in a folder--I had one for entrees, desserts, & side dishes, but now I try & scan or type them & save them on the lap top & bring it into the kitchen when we need it.

Sometimes if it is in a magazine it will also be on their website & you can just save the page, so you don't have to scan or type. This also works well for Food network recipes.

I only save holiday magazines that have tons of cookie recipes with lots of pictures.

i copy nad paste it into a draft email that i have had for years

I have an expanding file folder. I put the clips in there.

Lately, when someone on Recipes asks for a recipe, I use that opportunity to type up a clipped recipe into a central recipe document.

I'm not very organized with recipes. But my MIL has her own recipe collection book. She clips a recipe and if she likes it, she staples it into her recipe book, which is just a spiral bound notebook. Right now mine are on a magnetic clip hanging on the side of my fridge.

I cut it out and put it in a folder labeled "Recipes", "Interior Design," etc. At some point, I'll probably get a binder with sticky pages and put them all in that instead.

I slip it into a vinyl sleeve and put the sleeve into an organized 3 ring binder (ie: vegetarian, dessert, dinner, etc)

I will clip and store recipes in my recipe box -

everything else I clip and throw in the junk drawer in the kitchen

Print or clip the article. Then make a folder for it and label what it is for.

ie... marketing ideas, house improvement, etc...

For recipes, I put them with my recipe books, box.

I cut it out or re-type it and put it into my recipe binder.

All my recipes not from books are clipped and put into a standard photo album with the pages that peel up. Saves room and I can find them all in one spot.

i have all my clipped recipes in a big ziploc bag - not the best storage but it works and takes up no room

I make a color copy of it, print and and have it in a binder with those clear protective sheets.

I was forever clipping recipes and losing them
