Orlando - end of August or early October?

We have these 2 choices for going to Orlando again. Which would you choose? August im afraid will be too hot to enjoy walking around but ive read the last week of august isnt as packed because alot of schools have already started. October weather i read is great and not as crowded but then id be pulling the kids out of school to go (which im technically ok with lol but i know its frowned upon).

Which would you choose?

My kids aren't school age yet so it is easy for me to say, but I would pull them out. I went at the end of July last year and it was MISERABLE. I swore I would never go back in the summer.

MUCH less crowded. All schools will be in session (August - a lot of kids are still out of school)
Not sure of the age of your DC but maybe you can bring some work home from the teacher

October would be better. But August is doable, we've done it many times.

we're booked to go down 8/29 to 9/5. this is our first time going down that time of year... but my friends that have been down there that same week said the crowd levels were really low- so hopefully that will be the case!!
I know it will be HOT, and probably rainy some days... but i think if you're prepared it should be ok. we'll get good rain jackets, and we bought park hopper tickets... so that way we can hop around to whatever park works best (even if we have meal reservations at a different park or something). and there are a lot of shows and stuff that are inside that get you a break from the heat.
we've been down there in the winter (February), spring (May)... so we figured we'll try out the late summer/early fall. if its too hot, we'll just go a different time of year next time! LOL

We also are trying the end of August this year. It's hard to find a time of the year that works with mine and my husband's work schedule.

Heat wise I would recommend October. Still very hot, but manageable. Crowd wise look at the crowd calendar. Family went this past October around Columbus day and they said it was very crowded.

No question, October. August is hot as balls and makes the whole experience miserable IMO. We were there this past October, I pulled my DD from school, and we had great weather and an awesome time.

Definitely October. I would rather not go than go in August. Way too hot. October is hot enough.

I would check your school's calendar before booking end of August. A lot of schools are going back end of August this year (before Labor Day) due to the way the Jewish Holidays fall.

I would pick October over August You could do the Halloween party which is great!

The last week of August is the best week to go as the kids in most other states are back in school while only the ones up north are not.
While it is hot, it is less crowded and you can get a lot more in than you would at other times of the year.

I like October, but it can REALLY rain during that time.

I went one year end of August. Never ever again. Ever. it was broiling and the lightning storms were downright scary, especially when you are walking with little children..

Went at the end of August..NEVER again...It was soo hot! We couldnt even stay at the parks because my kids were miserable. The whole week there it only rained one time and itwas a heat index of 104!! And the temp at night was still near 90. My lil ones were not happy at all. Def go in October!

October. Aside from the heat/humidity factor, the Food and Wine Festival is in full swing in October.

I went labor day weekend last year and real feel was 105. Heat was STIFLING.

Go the end of October and you an catch Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parade at MK AND the Food and Wine Fest at Epcot.
The weather was perfect. We wore short sleeves during the day and brought light sweat shirts for at night in case we needed them.
