Orlando airport security point
We are leaving for Disney in 3 days!
JetBlue offers a More Speed Option which is *supposed* to move you to a shorter TSA line. Not the route I am going, but it got me thinking (since I haven't flown recently and never with my kids). How long have you waited in the security lines in Orlando? My kids are 6 and 7 and we have no stroller- do we have to go to the family line and wait with those with little ones and carriers/strollers, or can we wait on any line?

Re: Orlando airport security point
We had an awful experience at MCO back in November. TSA lines were over 45 minutes long...

Orlando is the worst! Security takes forever!!! I've been on line for over an hour one time. Awful. My friend almost missed her flight because the lines are sooooo slow!!!

Re: Orlando airport security point
It’s bad. More than 45 minutes when I flew also last November. I’m doing prescreen in 2 days to avoid something like that again.

I waited only 15 mins (not even) I had a mid afternoon flight and came back to NY from Orlando on the last day of spring break. I thought the airport was going to be a mad house but it wasn’t that bad. I guess I got lucky!

I traveled out of Orlando in October. The lines were terrible.

Orlando is one of the worst airports in the country to fly out of. TSA is so inefficient there. You wait in any line. There is no "family" line really. There is a disability/wheelchair line.

Re: Orlando airport security point
Oh God Orlando is the worst. My dd told us she didn’t want to do another Disney Cruise and we finally got it out of her that it was Because Of the security line there at the airport. I thought we were going to be arrested after my dh got into an argument with One Of the imbecile tsa agents there. The lines are so poorly marked and the people there have no clue where anything is. We are doing tsa precheck process solely to avoid the lines in Orlando in the future. Good luck, I hate to say it.

Get TSA Pre-Check!! Your daughter is free, and it's good for 5 years! Worth it for the fact that you don't have to take your shoes off!

Get the TSA pre-check it’s very worth it! We waited less than 10 mins at Orlando and the non precheck line was soooo long!

I know of some people that will look for flights that go to Sanford just to avoid Orlando airport. Although Sanford is like an hour away.

Re: Orlando airport security point
We just got home from Disney last Monday and lines were the WORST! First took forever to check the luggage and then 2 security lines that lead to 1 and hardly moves. Probably on line about 45 - 55 minutes.

It’s long. And they are through. I’ve been stopped 2x - one was my error but the other was for a banana. And I had to wait on a second line to get my bag individually checked which took forever.

Curbside check in! We always do that! Tip them $10 and be done! Never a line!

Re: Orlando airport security point
We had a good experience coming back in Feb. It was the Thursday after break at around 11:00am. I'll definitely try to fly midweek from now on there. Our weekend experiences have been terrible.

We were there school vacation end weekend returning home. We went through security in less than 20 minutes. I was expecting a real hassle and was nervous, but they were very nice and it was a breeze.

Re: Orlando airport security point
Orlando is a fcking nightmare...long lines of annoying children who whine and cry and parents that just look down at their phones. I flew out of there a few years back because it was a cheaper option compared to Daytona and my always-and-forever-childfree ass was in hell.
I’m probably going to hell and I’m sure that when I get there, it’s going to look exactly like the Orlando airport.

You have to apply online, then go in person to get fingerprinted. It's like $85 each. Totally worth it! There is a thread about it on here if you scroll down

Never ever fly from Orlando unless you are going to Disney. Even then I'd fly to Tampa or something and drive. I don't care if it's $4000 cheaper. No money can be worth that kind of hell

Re: Orlando airport security point
I just got back from Disney earlier this week and SHOCKINGLY, flying out of MCO was a piece of cake! We had a 3pm flight on a Tuesday, there was hardly anyone at the security checkpoint. We were through security in under ten minutes with our two kids. SO easy! I've had worse experiences there, sometimes going through security can take forever, but we really lucked out the other day!
Overall though, I love that airport. It's bright, clean, easy to navigate. WAY better than LGA or JFK!

Re: Orlando airport security point
We flew home from Disney last August and it was fine...and we were a party of 6 adults and a toddler. We didn't wait long at all. Going again this August and hoping for the same
