OT: Savings bonds and wrong SS#
Sarah got a few savings bonds for her christening, but the gift givers put down their social security number instead of asking us for hers. Will this be a problem down the road when she wants to cash them in?

no, no problem at all. She will just need to cash them at her local bank.
Dh had the same problem on his from his Christening. They had SS#'s that were made up of his mom's numbers as well as his last four.
We were able to cash them out when we needed them for our downpayment on our house. The bank understood and when it was tax time they were corrected to be reflected in our taxes

No problem at all. I still have savings bond from when I was younger and I have no clue who SS# is on them!

It should not be a problem. I didn't get my SS# til I was about 11 years old...I had tons of bonds that didn't have my SS# on them and I was able to cash them.

When you go to the bank to purchase savings bonds, if you do not have the receiver's SS#, you put your own on it. If you feel better having her ss# on it, there should be a web site or phone number on the documents you received.
