OTC vs. RX Prenatals
Is there a major difference? If they are the same, why would some get an RX and pay possibly more than getting one that is OTC????
I have samples of Prenate Elite....does anyone have any feedback on this?

Re: OTC vs. RX Prenatals
I don't have any feedback on the samples you have....But i use the Target brand OTC prenatals. When i went to my OBGYN when we started TTC, i brought them with me. He was going to give me a scritp and i showed him the bottle of the ones i was taking and he said these are fine. They have everything you need. HTH!

My doctor said there is no difference between the two. There are even preggos taking Flinestones chewables because that is all they can hold down.

Re: OTC vs. RX Prenatals
My doctor said there is no difference. I start with the CVS ones when we were TTC my daughter and I'm using them again as we TTC again.
My doctor said that some woman have trouble with their prenatals and if I found something that worked for me I should stick with it.

Re: OTC vs. RX Prenatals
Thanks for the info!
Would you ladies recommend sticking to one brand only? I have a month supply of samples of an RX brand....what if I used them and switched to Target brand? Would that be a bad thing?
Also, are they cheaper at Target vs. CVS or something?
One more ? lol Are RX refills expensive?
TIA

Re: OTC vs. RX Prenatals
I buy the big bottle from Costco (Nature's something)...300 for $10.00. I just added a DHA supplement, CVS brand about $10.00/month. Doc is fine with them

Re: OTC vs. RX Prenatals
I am taking an rx bc the copay is cheaper than buying otc! my dr. also said that they are all fine to take. however...the pharmacist said that my rx ones are better absorbed than the otc ones. What this means i am not sure!
