absolutely appalling , and so much worse. god forbid he has some disease! if he was injured that badly they should have left adn come back w/ another helper. Horrifying, and your poor DH!

I just wanted to add, don't panic! I'm sure you and DH cleaned it very, very well!!
He totally did, he was as disgusted as I was and wanted every drop up. But still, hours later DD was walking around in there (we had no choice, it's her bedroom!)....I'm not normally one to overreact, but now I'm really anxious about it  It was Lysol Antibacterial Kitchen cleaner

I am sorry but I would not let JCP off the hook until they offer some form of compensation. Pics or no pics one cannot make a story like that up.
I would even go as far as contacting the subcontracting company and filing a complaint. I don't need to add any more disgusting images in anyone's mind, but you have no idea what germs/diseases that man is walking around with. And now it has been sprawled out all over your floor and bathroom? Oh that is just nasty!!
I am sorry you had to go through that. IMO I will never order white glove service from JCP again after that!
Yeah, I wonder if he would have even filed an accident report that most companies would probably require. He was totally trying to brush his injury off to us, it was obviously a bad cut (DH said he must have cut it outside while they were cutting open the first box b/c from then on he was injured).

Ew! That is gross! FYI-I had issues with the delivery company used by JC Penny...I complained and JC penny got back to me the very next day. Great customer service. They credited me half the shipping which was $100!!!

I agree "accidents happen" BUT in your case JCPennys should pay to at least have your carpets steam cleaned. This is your dd's room...this is sooooo gross! Sorry this happened to you but i totally think you deserve compensation in the way of cleaning up this guys mess..

Oh c'mon ...really??? Seems even easier for this man to clean. He couldnt handle getting a paper towel and some cleaner. I wouldnt even know how they would compensate you. Was this just the furniture without a mattress? if so tell them you want a free mattress...

eta: I give your DH huge credit for cleaning it up and not flipping out on this guy. At the very least JCP should refund the shipping

Yup, just furniture. Thankfully the mattress wasn't even in the room (we already had a mattress), nothing else was in the room at all.
I'm definitely going to push for a substantial compensation...you ladies are inspiring me

I would be so upset! I'm sure you guys did I great job cleaning so don;t panic, blood can be disinfected with the proper cleaning stuff but IMO you totally deserve comp. RIght a letter, make phone calls...DON"T let them get away with this

I'm so grossed out by this story (I'm CERTAIN your DH got everything spiffy clean so don't worry about that!!).
You seem to handling this remarkably well, I don't know if I could be so calm!!!
JCP will work with you on it, I hear great things about their customer service, and they'll have a lot of leverage with the shipping company (and who knows how many other complaints they've gotten about this shipper's employees).
Glad all is well and they're out of your house now Update us when you hear back from JCP!!!!!

That is so beyond disgusting, I don't even know what to say! The one thing I'm sure of is that your DH cleaned it thoroughly enough that you don't have anything to worry about. So please put that fear behind you. Put your energy into getting this resolved with JCP and/or the contracted company. This guy MUST have some consequences to his beyond unprofessional and DISGUSTING behavior.
