Our first REAL fever
Ok so Travis has a fever. He has I think 1 before that lasted 1 day and it was months ago. Anyway when I picked him up from my moms, he seemed ok. Well he napped on the way home and when we got home he was grumpy. I originally thought it was from waking it, but realized he was warm. Well he has had a fever since last night. It was 101.7, then after I gave him Tylenol it was 99.9. What else can I do for him besides giving him Tylenol to make sure he is comfortable? He is with my MIL today and when I called to check on him. She said he had just fallin asleep and was still clingy and warm and that his face was a little flush. Since fevers are kinda new to us, any advice would be great.
Also he only took about 2 oz of his night time milk and refused to eat any dinner. But he woke up at 130 and downed about 4 oz of milk and 3 oz of water. then this morning he drank about 5oz of oj and only ate a few raisins.

Lots of fluids Motrin instead of tylenol Lots of hugs
and have to let it ride out.
Joey had a 6 day fever virus, two weeks ago. It was not fun. Ped. wasn't concerned about the eating, just make sure he drinks!

Re: Our first REAL fever
When DS has a fever the last thing he wants is to eat. Ped said that as long as he is drinking its ok. Hope he feels better.

Re: Our first REAL fever
My DS just had his 1st fever at 19 months. He basically stopped eating for 4 days (unheard of for him). The only thing he'd take consistently was yogurt. He even stopped finishing his milk. Ped wasn't concerned, as long as he was drinking his water.
I was a mess the whole time; it lasted 5 days. Hope he feels better soon. I gave him motrin to keep the fever down and just tried my best to keep him happy (which meant lots of nick jr since we were cooped up in the house).

Thanks ladies. I just went on my lunch and grabbed motrin. MIL said he is on his 2nd nap already today and will only eat raisins and watermellon.
