Overnight Potty Training question
ok - if you child is trained to go #1 on the potty and there are no accidents (#2 is another story), did you put them in underwear at night, or did you continue to put diapers on them?
I should add - out of the last 3 weeks, there was only one night with a wet diaper (and that is because she had 2 juice boxes before bed)
And if you did continue with diapers, how long?
Thanks

Re: Overnight Potty Training question
I still put Kaitee in a pull up or diaper at night. She has been day trained for about 6 months. She is a heavy sleeper, no way would she wake up to pee. If she ever woke up dry I would give it a shot though! She naps with no diaper but she has short nap.

Thanks for response. In the past couple of weeks, she has gone once during the night, one the potty, we woke up to 'yeah Ali', so I think she knows she should go in, and like I said her diapers are dry, I guess I am just nervous...

Re: Overnight Potty Training question
Ella is still in a pullup at night because she likes to drink milk before bedtime. I have to break the milk habit before I can lose the pullups.
She's been fully day trained for about 6 months and she's dry during naps (no pull-ups).

Re: Overnight Potty Training question
Both my kids trained at night right away when they trained..... but I was too much of a nervous nelly to take that first pull-up free night, even though they never woke up with a wet one since they trained!! I have to say it was such a waste of pull-ups since they were never wet
My son went pull-up free at nights at about 3.5 (he trained by age 3) and for my DD, I will probably do the same (she is just 3 today and has been trained for 2 months - day and night).

Re: Overnight Potty Training question
Our pediatrician said that you really can't "train" a child at night like you can do during the daytime, and that nighttime pottytraining is really just a question of when they are physically ready. Putting them in diapers at night, when they aren't ready, can really regress the whole endeavor.
I didn't make the transition until Alex woke up with dry diapers, consistently, for at least a week if not more. At that point, I knew she was physically ready, and it came about 3-4 months after she was fully potty trained during the day.
