ovidrel and testing at home
I have seen some mentions of triggering and testing on some posts and I have a question. I did my first clomid IUI cycle this month. I took the Ovidrel shot on Aug. 8th. If I test with an HPT and I test too early, will the Ovidrel show up in my urine and will I get a false positive? When there is talk of "trigger" does that mean Ovidrel or a more medicated cycle?

I am not an expert but I think with ovidrel you have to wait at least 10 days for it to be completely out of your system. Not sure though...

They say you should wait 10 days... however I was testing negative on an HPT after only 5 days... I guess everyone's different!
But if you want to be sure you get an accurate reading, I'd wait at least 10 days.

Re: ovidrel and testing at home
I would wait atleast 10 days. I have a question about this too.....once you take the shot you ovulate within 12-36 hrs.....do you start counting the days from the day of the shot?

I agree w/ waiting 10 days to test.
I start counting the days once I do the IUI.
I do know that I usually look at the calendar like a million times each cycle...counting and re-counting the days just in case I can test sooner than I thought. I'm a nut job.

With the ovidrel it's 36 hours, definately not 12.

Re: ovidrel and testing at home
My Dr. mentioned that the Ovidrel could possibly still be in your system and therefore give you a false positive. The NP told me to wait two weeks from my IUI. I'll be in the office for a blood test anyway so, I'm trying to hold out until then. I'm 1 week behind ya too. Are you still alittle crampy or has that subsided?

It comes and goes, but for the most part has subsided. Now I have moved on from obssessing on the cramps to obssessing on my boobs (if they are looking different) and the fact that I pee constantly (especially at night. Poor DH hasn't gotten a good night sleep in days). Could be due to the fact that it is 100 degrees outside and I drink wanter all day long. I am so at a loss! I guess I expected more and I don't know what is going on. This 2WW is the hardest!
