pack and play bassinet question

How long can you keep putting your dc in the top part of the pack and play? My ds is a little over 17 lbs and almost 5 months. We keep the top part of the pack and play on still, i guess this part is the bassinet? Not the little changing table part...how much weight can it support? I can't imagine taking out that top part and bending down to put a 5 month baby in the bottom

Re: pack and play bassinet question

I believe that 15 pounds is the weight limit on that!

They are all a little different. The weight limit should be on there (on a tag somewhere?)

Re: pack and play bassinet question

The instructions recommend no more than 15 pounds for the bassinet. I'm not sure about the bottom playard part, but I think that supports more weight.

My DS is probably close to 12 lbs. now, and he kicks and turns around a lot, so it is making me nervous. Time for the crib for him!

Re: pack and play bassinet question

Now, do i have to completely remove it? My dad and brother put it together for my dh and i so we didn't get a chance to take a look at how it's assembled. I don't even know how to pack it away, so much for pack and playChat Icon Chat Icon
anyway, so after 15lbs it goes away? tia!

Re: pack and play bassinet question

the bassinet part goes away after 15 pounds. the play yard part can be used up to 30 pounds.

I never used the bassinet part of my PNP. My kids began rolling early on and grabbing onto things, so I was petrified of them rolling out of the PNP.

It should be snapped on the sides by plastic rounded looking pieces and the top and bottom are snapped on with little rods.

Take the mattress out first, it's easier.

The directions are also at www.gracobaby.com too if you get stuck.

The changing table part can hold babies up to 25lbs.Chat Icon

Remove the bottom portion (it folds up) and unsnap the plastic sides (should have four). There are also two white bars that you need to take out of place. It's pretty easy to remove the bassinet.

Re: pack and play bassinet question

one more question, just so i understand..after i remove the top part (bassinet), i no longer can use it? it's only the playard? it seems so low to keep putting my 5 month old down in it, especially since he doesn't sit on his own yet, or roll over, but i'm afraid of keeping him on the top part and it just collapsing b/c he's too big and heavyChat Icon

We stopped using our pnp after we moved DS out of it at 7 weeks. We plan on changing it soon to the playard because he's getting close to sitting. (6 months) Right now the pnp sits there, still set up as a bassinet, holding clean clothes directly from the dryer. Chat Icon
