Pack n Play question...
Is it absolutely necessary to register for or have one of these? We live in an apartment and I'm not sure it's reallly necessary to have such a big item occupying space.

Re: Pack n Play question...
Nothing is necessary
ONly reason i have one is because I have a bi level house. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten one, if my house my all one level. I hardly used it after DD was 3-4 months old either.
PNP are big and do take up alot of space and if you don't have the space, i wouldn't get it. Save the space for toys :)

Re: Pack n Play question...
I have a couple of small dogs so I will need one for my LV so baby can be with us but not leaked to death by my dogs.
It is not necessary at all! It's up to you if you need one or not.

If you will be out alot visiting other people's homes, you will find it useful.

Re: Pack n Play question...
Nothing is necessary if it doesnt work for you..
We need one b/c:
1.Baby will be sleeping in the bassinet part in the beginning. 2.We will be having some overnights to grandmas. 3.The baby wont have a bedroom until next spring so it'll be a place for toys. 4.Ive always had one in the past.

Re: Pack n Play question...
We're getting one for our room, the baby will sleep in the bassinet part for the first few months. After that, I know I've read they're handy for later on, when baby crawls and you want to contain them for a little bit (like playpens from our day).
They do make some smaller versions, and some larger versions with changing stations, etc., so you could maybe find one to fit your needs if you decide to get one.

Re: Pack n Play question...
Thanks ladies!! The baby's room is pretty big and it's right next to the living room..so for the most part I believe she'll be in her crib a majority of the time..or the cradle. I guess I'll see if I need it..and if we do then we can always pick it up later. Thanks again!! We are just trying not to have something that may not exactly be necessary. If/when we visit his parents or anyone..I'm sure we'll need it..but we hardly do that now..LOL!

Re: Pack n Play question...
We got one for our room so the baby can sleep in that for a while instead of keeping her upstairs. But even after that I think it will come in handy for when you go out. This was actually one of the items that was on my "must register for" list.

Re: Pack n Play question...
We registered for one, no one bought it and we agreed we do not need it right now, nor do we really have the room for it yet!

Re: Pack n Play question...
I got them and use them when we travel places like Grandma's house. The boys need to take naps and it works great for us. We never use it in the house, but i have seen some people use it to put their kids in with toys so they can get stuff done.

we are apartment dwellers as well. We registered for one and will keep it in the car for trips to the grandparents.

Re: Pack n Play question...
We live in a one bedroom apartment . We decided to get the PNP because the crib will be out in the foyer and we wanted something in the bedroom for the baby so that when we were in the living room or kitchen there was someplace quiet to put the baby down. The fact that it also can work as a bassinet appealed to us. Plus, it folds up really easily and compactly for when we are going to grandma's house.

it sounds like you don't need it - we never got one and never missed it.
