Pack n Play bassinet question?
I got the PnP with the bassinet on top, which I plan to use in my room when LO comes home. I took it out of the box yesterday and wanted to wash the bassinet part but there was no washing instructions on it. Now I'm wondering what everyone else did. I really don't like the idea of just not washing it. My mom suggested putting a blanket over it, but I know everything I read says no blankets with the baby (SIDS risk). I'm kinda at a loss now. Any thoughts?

When in doubt, hand wash it with some warm/cool water and dreft or any type of baby detergent. That's what I did with most of the baby things bc they come from dusty factories so u want to give them a rinse.

Re: Pack n Play bassinet question?
Do you mean it has the newborn napper thing? Or a bassinet setting? The bassinet is where you can place the bottom of the PnP raised up to bassinet level. The napper is the thing that sits on top next to the diaper changing station.
DH never let me use the napper. Even though DD was tiny, he didn't like her up in there. We just put her in the bassinet (the raised floor of the PnP) with a sheet in it.
You can't put a blanket on top of the baby, but as a newborn, you can put a blanket under the baby. I'm pretty sure you can wash one of the pieces though anyway in the laundry.

Yes, I'm sorry I wasn't more clear, I meant the napper portion. I assumed we'd have the baby sleep in the napper in the beginning. I do have a sheet for the larger portion of the PnP that I can use.
Thank you for your responses!

I was wondering the same thing. Is it safe to put a blanket underneath. I was also thinking that if the baby's diaper leaks you would have to wash it. I wish it came with a sheet.

I have a large waterproof pad I use on the diaper changing station. Works perfect. They do sell an insert pad for the diaper changing table but it's not really worth it because it's so small. The lap waterproof pads are better.
