pain meds while BFing

I have a severe toothache / cavity and I am seeing my dentist tomorrow evening but I have been taking Advil which doesn't really work and half of a Percocet left over from my c-section which WORKS....I took them obv after my c-section so it should be ok since I am still giving my DS pumped milk, right? The pain is unbearable and I can't function and take care of him without taking something...

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled when Damien was 4 months old and was EBF. I HAD to take vicodin it was so painful. I talked to my ped about it and they gave the okay. When your in a lot of pain sometimes you have no choice. I also never noticed a difference in him at all. Plus I took them after my c-section too with both kids.

As much as it's not a title I ever wanted, I'd have to consider myself Queen of Pain Meds while pregnant/BF

I was still taking heavy doses of Vicodin after DD was born for my back injury. I was told that some will come through the milk, but not in any amount that will do anything to the baby. No need to pump and dump if that's what you're thinking about. Of course, check with your OB, just to be sure.
