paint or rustoleum cabinet transformation...

...the previous owners of our house had the cabinets refaced using some kind of plastic laminate. I hate it! I dont want to replace everything since the boxes are in excellent condition (less than 10 yrs old) as are the doors.
I dont know what paint or the rusteoleum will look like over the "plastic" finish.
Anyone do this?

We used it on our cabinets. We get so many compliments on them. The only thing is our cabinets were wood but they say you can use it on laminate. It is a great product. We are currently using the outside deck paint version on our deck:) it can't hurt to try!

Thanks! I hate the look of the "plastic" veneer. I dont know why they wouldnt have put up real wood, or just painted the original cabinets instead of this stuff!
