PALIN speaking on CNN
today her's 20th wedding anniversary. they met in high school.
seh's talking about her eldest son, who was deployed on 9/11 of last year to Iraq.
she's talking about the rest of her family.
she has a son a few months old.
her daughters appear to be named after trees.
she's such a family woman. she's an average "hockey" mom.
as an aside, my dh called her a potential VPILF

I know I shouldn't be shocked, but she just mentioned-- and, dare I say, honored-- Ferraro and HRC.

isn't it so sad that it turns into that though? These politicians just tearing into each other, make me so disgusted, she has no experience though and you are totally right, he is just gog to run experience-circles around her, poor lady, sending her into the lions den I like her, but definitely a poor choice for a running mate for a VP.

Perhaps but no one will expect her to do well against him so if she does, which she might, Obama may have a BIG, BIG problem.......this is a wrinkle I am sure they were not expecting, interesting though, I can't wait to watch.

Re: PALIN speaking on CNN
Not impressed. She didn't really tell me much about herself or why she is a good VP pick. This was a good opportunity for her and IMO, she flubbed it.
From what I saw today, Biden will make quick work of her.
Her life story is interesting, but I need more substance.

but OBAMA has no experience! This (Palin) is the runnig mate - not the main candidate- the MAIN candidate should have experience imho.

Re: PALIN speaking on CNN
McCain made a really GREAT choice.
I am a registered rep, but last night Obama's speech was awesome and he was swaying me...especially when he said "you are your brother's keeper" and how we should ban together dems and reps.
Then, McCain has a woman VP who ais an AMAZING person. WOW.
I mean she is someone I could see myself being friends with, ya know? A mom who is Professional, educated, and who's has made some incredible choices (having a child with downs and not terminating it, having a son in Iraq, fighting for people in Alaska). WOW.
Last night I was this close {} to voting for Obama and now I am closer to voting for McCain based on his VP choice. Dare I say it...If Mccain croaks while in office (if he wins) we could have a woman President!!!! Not that I want him to croak, but I was just pointing it out...

i dont see Obama having a problem at all. McCain talks about his lack of experience and then picks someone who has even less than he does and will be sitting a heartbeat away from being president. what hes counting on is that women will vote for her simply because she is a woman. give me a break! if i were Obama i would be rubbing my hands together and dancing for joy. she can portray herself as the typical soccer mom all she wants but the fact is that when it comes down to it, she wont be able to hack it in a town like Washington. they will chew her up and spit her out.

Re: PALIN speaking on CNN
Obama has more experience though, plus a grueling primary behind him. She has been governor less than two year and mayor of a small town in Alaska. Maybe there is more to her resume than I am aware of, but McCain can't use the experience arguement anymore.
Her family story and her gender do not qualify her as a candidate anymore than Obama's family or race qualify him.

The life expectancy of men in the US is 75 and McCain is 72. He needs a running mate with experience. There is a high chance he will not live through the next four years.

Plus, everyone agrees that a year as President ages you much more than a year.... That's a very stressful, taxing job no matter what age you start at.

I am so impressed with this woman, I think i Have a girl crush on her.
I think it was a very, very good choice for McCain... and I'm a registered Democrat who has always liked McCain (especially when he was running against Bush the 1st time- he was great).

Re: PALIN speaking on CNN
I really urge everyone who likes Palin to really look at her policies. This shouldn't just be about male/female. I agree, its great she's a woman, and I'd love a female president. That said, she's very conservative. Now if you are conservative and agree with her policies, then for you I'm happy you have someone you like. However, if you don't agree with her policies, don't let the fact that she's female alone sway you, its what she stands for that should make the difference.

I would not say Obama has NO experience, after all he has more experience than Palin! Obama has experience at the federal level, which Palin has NONE. She served on the Wasilla AK city counsel, was mayor of Wasilla AK and then governor of AK. Has she ever worked in Washington?
If elected, she would be a heartbeat away from the presidency and McCain would be the oldest elected president if he were to win. That scares me a little.
