panoramic Testing
Did anyone not opt to have this done? The NP at my practice was going on and on about how she doesn't understand why anyone would not do it but then my doctor is very neutral about it and says unless you're over 35 she doesn't push it but is okay if you do decide to do it. At this point I've decided against it but I can still change my mind. When I cancelled the appt the receptionist looked at me like I had 100 heads and questioned why I was canceling it! Ugh.. I'm torn.
Thoughts? TIA!

panoramic Testing
I am over 35 and had it done this pregnancy. It's more accurate then the NT scan, but when I was pregnant with my DD I decided not to even though I was over 35 at that time. It was also nice getting the sex instead of waiting until my 20 weeks scan. It's a personal choice.

I'm 34 and had it done. mostly because i wanted to know the sex early! but it was nice having that extra layer of reassurance that everything was ok. i dont see the harm in having it done.

Re: panoramic Testing
I am 34 and had it done for this pregnancy. We are so I didn't care about the gender. I needed a piece of mind that genetically all was ok. It was some extra reassurance that all was well so in my mind, why not do it?

Re: panoramic Testing
I could see if your insurance doesn't cover it & you are young. OR if you would not have an termination no matter what the results (you would still find out later & could prepare).
I'm older, so I was looking forward to it!

Re: panoramic Testing
Are you over 35? Or high risk for carrying a genetic disease? If you answered no to those, then your insurance won't pay for it.

They're saying that whatever the insurance doesn't pay for the company eats now because they're really trying to push people to get it. I'm only 27 so I'm not in the age range it's typically highly suggested for. I guess I'll keep my decision for now. I don't plan to terminate regardless and I wouldn't want to be stressed the entire pregnancy should something come back high risk. I still have time to change my mind..
Thanks for your input!

Hope that's true. I just got a bill yesterday for almost $3000 for the test because they charged my old insurance. I AM covered (over 35).

Check with your insurance first because I know people who got burned by this and got a ridiculous bill as much as a year later.

The doctors office said that you'll get a bill in the mail and to not pay it and they won't come after you. Who knows!

Me too! Well, kind of. My *current* insurance denied payment. I'm also over 35 AND have a history of repeat miscarriages, and I got a bill in the mail for over $2000. My doctor told me to bring it to my next appointment and he'd make it "go away." Hoping that's true…

Re: panoramic Testing
I'm 32, I was offered the Verifi test & I jumped at the chance for the peace of mind but insurance is definitely a consideration... fortunately I had a copay for $25 for it & that seems to be it.
I don't think you're crazy for skipping it at all. Everyone's experience is different.

This was what it was for me too. I'm 29 and not high risk. I got it done and was so happy I did. I also loved knowing we were having a boy when I was only 12 weeks along.
