paper work to get a mortgage???
DH and I are hoping to have enough $ saved to by a house by the end of the year. I was wondering what kind of paper work should I have saved for when we go for a mortgage...tax returns? pay stubs? I want to start a file so Im prepared.

I needed a copy of our 401k statements and saving account statement . I had to send in a paystub for DH and I and then send in two more right before we closed.

tax returns last 2 years
pay stubs
bank statements
proof of assets- IRA, 401K , stocks etc

1. W-2's - 2 years
2. Paystubs - one months worth
3. Bank Statements - 3 months worth
4. 401k's / IRA's / add'l investments - last quarterly statement
5. Drivers License
6. Copy of Escrow Check Cashed (after contracts are signed)
